I think CBS owns the rights to the STO Ent-F. Could be mistaken. Something to do with the terms of the design competition.

I voted "No Ship". Instead I say give him a Pike-like automated Wheelchair (ala TOS - "The Menagerie"); BEEPS and all. ;)

The winner of the Design the Ent-F contest only submitted a drawing of his design:

    https://scifanatic-wpengine.netdna-...2011/05/STO_DesignEnterprise_Winner_Web-1.jpg

As you can see, it was pretty basic and was just used as a starting-off point for someone else to refine. Unlike the Design the Titan contest, where Sean Torangeau's exact design was used. So there's little resemblance between that Ent-F sketch and the finished product, even if the guy was able to keep the rights to his design, which is doubtful anyway.

Though I still think I'm right about all designs being submitted being owned by CBS/Cryptic, because Cryptic has used a couple of the submitted designs as new ships in the game since the contest was done.

The T5 Federation Vet ship is identical to one of the submitted Ent-F designs.

Plus, i always had the idea that lifespans had increased in the 24th century to around 120, with an assumption that most of this occured from an extension of middle age.

I voted E-E refit before I read the first post. I meant that I would like the E-E refit to appear, but I wouldn't want the show to take place on it or for it to have a major role. A single Enterprise focused (or takes place on) episode in the first season is enough for me.

Give me Captain Worf and that'd be dessert fit for Deanna Troi.

    Hah! Stargeezer.

All rightee then! Let's start pontificating the significance of the registry.

201979: Some big announcement coming on July 9th?

    201979: 40 years of TMP (2019, 1979)

201979: lots of new starships built since the Berman era!

    Anyone else?

PS: this is tongue in cheek, in case anyone is concerned.

I'm not sure if I actually answered the thread question, but no I don't want a 'hero' ship.

I wouldn't mind seeing new ships, but I don't want there to be a central one.

But I find it very likely there will be some sort of central ship, it is Star Trek after all. If Picard is an Ambssador he'll probably have a ship ferrying him around.

USS Titan with Riker popping up to take Picard to an archaeology symposium or avert an archaeological disaster.

Picard in the Captains chair wouldn’t work. Unless he still has the Captains yacht?

I wouldn't put too much stock in trying to decipher those numbers. It's clearly photoshopped.

^ Inspiration. So Picard has stepped down from a command role, to pursue archaeology. As a senior science officer/advisor aboard his wife's ship, USS Pasteur. A medical ship might actually be legally (by treaties) able to go some of the places Picard might need to go that a regular ship couldn't without provoking problems. And having Beverly in command would both be interesting for story possibilities *and* would satisfy the social agenda that Trek promotes. (Which, I should clarify, I'm a fan of. :) )

If people live to 140 then being 60 won't even be middle aged in the 2300's

What would be nice is if Riker is now in command of the Enterprise-F, and has a desktop model of the Titan in his ready room.

What would be nicer is if they came up with unique designs for both ships, rather than the crappy non-canon fan-created designs they have now.
