We have a phenomenon in Sydney/Central Coast/Newcastle. On certain days, that have been hot and still, in the later afternoon or early evening, a fresh, strong breeze comes roaring through and breaks the temperature. It's called a Southerly Buster.
One has just arrived. Temperature dropped from 36 to 24 in about half an hour. Marvellous! Better than air con!

Wait! We have an oath? And I thought it was bad enough making them sing the national anthem :barf:

Is our government really trying to legally avoid giving the people on Manus Island medical care? Just it looks like they are trying very hard to twist the law that way.

I wasn't at all clear what our PM was talking about the other day when he said that if we let doctors decide we'll have hundreds of asylum seekers coming to Australia. Either he was implying that doctors would lie to let hundreds of random people in, or he was admitting that there are hundreds of people currently being denied medical treatment. Either way he's a complete dick.

So, has anyone seen our Drought Envoy lately? At all? I haven't seen him for weeks.

I don't think he's even been to Menindee.

Oh. These things tend to pass me by, like water over a pebble in the Darling, when it's there.

Why would we expect to see him? It's not like most of the country is suffering from drought or anything. Besides I'm pretty sure that the official job description of drought envoy (just like the Indigenous envoy) was to stay out of the way of the Prime Minister and not say or do anything that would embarrass the government too much. So by staying invisible he's just doing what the PM wanted to achieve by appointing him.

Bring on an election, I say.

Had the water bomber helicopter (Elvis?) flying over most of the day, but can't tell where the fire is because the dust cloud from the south west has blown in along with clouds and everything is brown or grey.

But hey, no such thing as climate change, amirite?

Youarerite... No such thing as climate change. It's all figments of imagination.

Scummo said that they will reverse the medivac legislation should they win back power after the next election. Well, well, well. Fucking crybabies

    Fear tactics unfortunately do work.

    Voters are fickle things.
