Did my ears deceive me or did Georgiou really make a reference to the Klingon chancellor’s “tiny male minds”?

    What the actual f?

I know we’re in the middle of a forced diversity/woman matter more than men movement but how is this acceptable?

Imagine the UPROAR if a man had said that about a bunch of female Klingons.

No, she didn't make a reference to L'Rell's "tiny male minds", because a) L'Rell is not male and b) has only one mind.

Georgiou said, and I quote: "Every minute you remain here, your councilors must reorganize their tiny male brains to rationalize why it isn't them standing on the dais."

And I'm finding it difficult to conjure up any outrage over this. Who cares? It's just one line.

Plus it's important to remember, the speaker is MU Georgiou, who is hardly the most forward-thinking of people anyway.

If you look, all of the female Klingons actually have larger heads in Disco. I think read something by the producers towards the start of season 1 that they intended the women to have larger brains.

I never actually noticed the reference in this episode though.

    Guess I was wrong.

Except they shrunk L'Rell's head in Season 2.

It was referring to the other heads of the Klingon houses. She absolutely said “tiny male minds”.

Imagine the outrage if Georgiou was male and she said “tiny female minds”. The show would probably end up cancelled from the backlash.

Fits with the ex-Emperor's personality. Why am I supposed to be outraged again?

But she isn't and she didn't, so there no problem.

You're the only one here who has an issue with it.

All of you saying “Why should I be outraged”... you shouldn’t be. Just imagine the outrage there WOULD be if the genders were switched around. That’s what’s outrageous. The blatant double standards.

This being a week after the token white guy was killed for being an overconfident bumbling idiot. God forbid the producers made that character a woman.

That sounds like something Georgiou would say to L'Rell. If you switch the genders, it also sounds like something Lorca would say to Voq, T'Kuvma, or Kol.

We're not supposed to identify with the Terrans, how they act, or what they say.

So being sexist is ok, as long as it’s towards males? Society really is f-ed up.

That might be overstating things a TON.

Like I said, the context of this scene absolutely depends on the fact that Georgiou is from the MU. Humans from that universe can be counted on to be racist, sexist, violent, etc. to the Nth degree. So the fact that a MU human is talking like that, shouldn't really be surprising to anyone.

    so what?
Yeah, imagine a fictional fascist leader, known for speciesism says something sexist....
Sorry, but I see no outrage here.
(And it's not like she has no point... only males would be so stupid thinking they are suppressed enough that a commentary about this qualifies as something worthy of an outrage)

After centuries of sexism being okay towards females, I think my masculinity can handle that

So it’s ok for lines to be sexist, racist, homophobia because it’s on tv. Got it.
