It's definitely something CBS can fall back on if the initial idea doesn't work. Bringing back as many past cast or spin-off characters is what this series needs to not be unique.

We live in an era where Terminator 6 is a sequel to Terminator 2, where the latest Halloween ignores the 5 films after the original. Just cos it's dead for now doesn't mean they won't go back to the well in years to come. Give them 25 years and they'll reboot The Undiscovered Country with the surviving Kelvin cast.

I hope the next star trek movie will be set in the prime timeline again.

On that subject: I'm personally bummed we didn't get Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5. As much as I like 3 and 4, I wouldn't have minded seeing an alternate continuation of Aliens. I think it would've been a lot better than Alien: Covenant.

Taking it back to Trek: Because most of the TNG Movies were horrible, I actually wouldn't mind if they were completely ignored in the Picard Series.

10 films, there are 10 films after the original and all of them are ignored. Also Godzilla plays fast and loose with history too.

I think Riker is the Captain of the Enterprise E (I hope it's still around because if C5 plans can last 100 years than a star ship should last more than 25.) after Picard resigns from Star Fleet to become an ambassador to what's left of the Romans.

No need to ignore anything, they just have to move on. Wiping away Worf's character development from DS9 was the only thing I didn't like about the movies but I'd rather they deal with it (if they do) rather than turn Trek into another Dallas/Highlander mess.

Too late. He already took command of the Titan and I can't think of a scenario where he could abandon his ship and crew to nab the Enterprise. A real shame too because he was waiting 15 years for Picard to retire or get promoted so he could get that coveted ship.

Well, yeah. 20 years later, the TNG films should have nothing to do with what's going on now. I chalk up the movies to Picard going through a Midlife Crisis. Hopefully it's out of his system.

The Titan was destroyed in some battle saving some group of people and boom Riker gets the Enterprise. Or just say the Titan was an older ship and it was retired.

I mean he waited for 15 years for a ship called Enterprise. The crew of the Ent-D was like 1,000, the crew of the Ent E was a fraction of that anyways. So sure, ditch the Titan crew for a different ship. Not that big of a deal.

My dream scenario is that from the comic Waypoint, where Geordi commands a future Enterprise with endless holographic duplicates of Data, who's memories were uploaded into the ship's mainframe.

I'm not bummed at all because I'm getting sick and tired of this constant glorification of fan service just to keep a studio afloat for the simple reason they're creatively bankrupt. I appreciated Prometheus because it had the remnants of alien but was heading to another direction... until Alien: Covenant came around and destroyed all the possibilities into a boring, fanwank romp--something Disco is doing very very well.

As for the Picard series, I share this same sentiments because I know TNG movies were horrible and didn't honor what the TV series had done so well which was to entertain and bring some fresh ideas for viewers. Ignoring terrible Star Trek projects should be done more often these days.

Promotheus was great. I wish they left it at just the one film or did what I thought they were going to do and pivot in another direction. I think the sequel(s) to Prometheus should've focused on the Engineers' Homeworld instead of the crap they did with David in Covenant. A real follow-up to Prometheus would've been interesting. They could've tackled Creation, a Grander Plan, and get into the nitty-gritty of super-evolved Extra Terrestrials responsible for our existence and meeting our Progenitors.

I would've preferred that type of Prometheus sequel to Alien 5. But I'd have preferred Alien 5 -- and almost anything else for that matter -- compared to what we actually got with Alien: Covenant. If Covenant was going to be the follow-up to Prometheus, I wish they hadn't done one at all.

I really liked "Alien: Covenant". It was a big budget movie version of "Datalore"

If you came in expecting an Alien movie though...
