Things that frustrate us all

Facebook. Given in and joined up, again. School and pool and everything does everything, on Facebook.

FB can be frustrating as hell, but I have found its advantages (many groups of people with similar interests in one place instead of remembering all sorts of forums) and companies do tend to have FB pages, as well. It's sometimes nice to be able to contact them there rather than filling out all sorts of captcha email forms.

I don't know...for me it's a convenience thing.

I hate it when people who know nothing about wine come to dinner with a bottle of something that barely upgrades from vinegar!! I just can't find the appropriate time to open their bottle... before dinner... it will ruin the palate for dinner... after dinner, it will make an enjoyable experience much less enjoyable... So my tactic is to make it seem like I had the intention to open it at one point and then forgot about it. Some obstinate people don't make that tactic easy though... as they keep reminding you about their vintage vino... Sigh!!!

What frustrates me about wine is the pretentious chatter.

NOT what you just said, BTW. What you wrote, actually makes sense. It's crap like this that really gets me.

To the author's suggested steps for discussing wine in a realistic fashion (1. What does it smell like? 2. What does it taste like? 3. Did you like it? 4. When would you serve it?) I would add these:

5. Nobody knows what "tannins" are, nor do they give a shit.
6. Tasting wine and then spitting it out is wasteful and stupid.
7. Whether or not wine comes from a bottle, or a box, makes no fundamental difference.
8. I probably wouldn't buy anything more complicated than Thunderbird or Night Train anyway, so what the hell am I even doing here?

Google Ads. I report ones that I'm tired of seeing and then they go ahead and repeat said ads over and over again. Been running into an Asian date one now going on 3-4 times. After I've reported it.

I'm so accustomed to the way that Google orders its search results, that DuckDuckGo looks like a mess to me.

Losing one's voice for almost three weeks is very frustrating. I lost mine to a virtual perfect storm of things. I found out a friend died, and then, almost a week later, I got hit with the virus that's been going around and something bacterial as well. My tonsils swelled, so I got antibiotics and that cleared that up, but my voice decided to check out on me.

I found out today that I still have a staph infection in my bone.

More antibiotics...

Get better soon!

It's too cold for my regular pajamas and yet not cold enough for my super-warm pajamas, so I'm either too cold or sweating like a pig. I need to find some "it's winter but the heater's on" pajamas.
