Exceptions that are so rare that they prove the rule more so than disprove it.
But they exist, which automatically disproves Dent's argument.
There's also Africanus, Fabius, James K Polk, Ulysses Grant, Juan Carlos I of Spain, Lopez Contreras...

You really need to look on the dark side of life. But they exist, which automatically disproves Dent's argument.

I'll take this over a lot of Marvel or DC stuff.Personally, I'm looking forward to the day when the only superheroes kids of the future give a crap about are Ladybug and Chat Noir and all this Marvel vs DC dick-measuring shit is finally over.

It was Dent who said that, and it's an example of Nolan not thinking things through while trying to be profound otherwise he'd have had Rachel or Bruce immediately counter with real life examples like George Washington, Cincinnatus, Nelson Mandela, etc.

A good story is one that can be challenged, discussed and engaged. The fact that we are still discussing it is a good sign, not a bad one.Like I said, not my fault Nolan thought those stories couldn't be challenged.
Nolan really needs to realize that the philosophies he espouses aren't absolute and infallible.
It's the same with Alfred's speech about the Burmese Bandit. He says it like it's an absolute certainty that the Bandit was just some random guy screwing with them just for the Hell of it. It never occurred to him that the Bandit had 100% logical reasons for his actions, like wanting to prevent the English from forming proper relations with the natives. Instead he thinks it's a perfect example of some random nihilistic schmuck.

Doe he?Look at Kai, he thinks they're infallible statements.
I can't speak for Kai or anyone else. I think that they can be challenged but within in the context of the story each individual's arguments are failiable, to one degree or another. But, Alfred and Dent bear out within the story far more than the Joker's ultimately does. Then why am I the only one pointing out that Dent and Alfred's stories are full of holes while everyone else thinks they were making statements that can't be challenged?

That wasn't my point but fair enough.Bad stories can be discussed and engaged too. People have talked and written extensively about the worst movies, shows, etc. ever made. It's the mediocre stuff that there's nothing to say about.

Once the memes come out, the life of thread has ended.

No, he does not. For the sake of all others around, I don't believe The Dark Knight to be an attempt at a final statement in regards to any philosophy. Few works of art try anything of the sort, and even less are successful. Dent, Alfred, the Joker, Gordon, and Batman, all have their own philosophies which sometimes even contradict each other, so the idea that the movie didn't challenge any of them is beyond ridiculous to me.
The movie has been out for a while so yes...Look, before me did any of you run into anyone who pointed out the very obvious contradictions and flaws in Dent and Alfreds' statements?

If they were out to challenge those stories and ideas, they would've immediately had Bruce point out the holes in Alfreds' story and have Bruce or Rachel mention all the historic figures who lived whole lives without becoming villains.
Now that the DCU finally seems to have some momentum...
Is it at all in any universe, possible to see a universe crashing MCU vs DCU crossover super event? Cuz I am ready!
