Burnham not human?

The consensus on Captain Pike seems to be that he is likeable, charming and entertaining to watch from the start, elevating the dynamics on the show.

Adding him to the regular cast will help to balance Burnham's boring presence out.

It was definitely a smart, calculated move. Makes the series more watchable to those who dislike Michael Burnham.
I know a Michael Burnham Mary Sue topic is like a flame to your moth, but what does your embarrassing Captain Pike fetish have to do with the topic?

If you're not even going to engage with the actual topic of the thread, it gets harder to justify that you're not just going around trolling for a reaction

Careful, those verbal jello-shots are making it seem like you may actually be enjoying the show.
<snicker>

I read a blurb to a movie I couldn't be bothered watching, about a woman who pretended to be a drag queen to make ends meet.

Is it possible that Sarak took a half Vulcan kid, and pretended that she was full human, to make life easier fro his own kid?

Also, Michael is probably Sarak's biological child, but he's too much of a little shit to admit it.

Careful, your verbal jello-shots are making it seem like you're watching a different show from most of the rest of us.

Lol. Alrite. We'll keep it focused on the ''Burnham not human' topic.

Someday, someone will explain how Michael being boring somehow equals "bad show?""
I don’t find her boring at all. But then again I’ve found the vast majority of Trek characters to be boring. She actually has some inner conflict and has developed as a character more in one season than most Trek characters did in 7 years. I question the intent of those who make that claim.

Here's my thing. It's one matter to consider a character boring. That's fine by me. Plenty of shows that I regard as boring, uninteresting and I don't subject myself to them...no harm, no foul.

But, how do you go from "boring" to "Mary Sue," and all the other labels thrown at this character? That's illogical at best, and highly disturbing at worst...:vulcan:

It's easier to toss a whole melting pot of complaints at something rather than spend the time to justify your displeasure.
Especially if the thing you are showing animosity toward is something you loved.
Divorce is heavily steeped in this kind of thinking.
;)

It’s all cover for the actual reason some hate her.

...Okay, one might nitpick that acceleration and force are different things. Yet "G-force" is rather vaguely used to denote both in the usual case.

But the only real difference between force from linear acceleration and force from pull of gravity is the gradient: you can tell whether you are in a stationary room on Earth or a rocket-propelled room in space if you can sense the slight difference in pull between your head and toes. But no human can.

think the writers just fumbled on the 9g's thing, unless Star Trek has that magic juice from The Expanse that lets you handle those g loads

I think Burnham is a average character but I got to say I am really interested in learning more about her history with Spock. This feels like it will be a more interested story than her romance with Tyler or her trying to reform after a mutinity. I hope Spock arrives fast because right now that is the storyline I am most interested in. That and the red angel things which I guess will be connected to their story.

Ah yes, the ole the-REAL-reason-they-hate-my-fave-character-is-because-of-an-ISM. Fairly certain closed-minded people aren't known for their ability to be subtle. Burnham is disliked for writing and/or acting reasons

In the latest episode Burnham mentions going 9 gravities for 11 minutes.

But that's physically impossible for a human.
So is having a baby with an alien and yet Spock, Deanna and B'Lanna exist..... . Its Star Trek not a documentary

Burnham was right at the battle of the Binary Stars.

No reform was necessary or attempted.

It was the right thing to do, even though it was an awful and non-starfleet thing to do, to clobber her Captain and Take Pip's ship.

Phillipa stopped Burnham from saving the day.

The war wouldn't have happened if The Shenziou had released all it's weapons on the lead ship, and then got destroyed by the Klingon fleet, like Michael wanted.

This was Vulcan SOP for centuries until a status quo was established.

It works.

Diplomacy and fancy talk about peace just pisses them off.
