Felcity is dead, looks like Oliver is dead.
Nobody actually literally stated 'I saw Felicity/Oliver die'. Till then, all bets are off.

If they prevent this future it's not going to be until the end of the series, they producers have already said that the flash forwards' story will continue until the end of the series. You know, thinking about it--without time travel, what is the point of this 20 year peak into the future?
From what we know right now, subject to change, Felcity is dead, looks like Oliver is dead, and the future does not look so bright.
If this is the world 20 years in the future, that kind of means that Oliver and crew accomplished absolutely nothing, and the world is not even close to being a better place because of all they did and sacrificed.
It sends a terrible message.
UNLESS there is some sort of time travel element that prevents this distopia. Granted, that's been done before and is hardly original, but this is kind of a bummer plot without it.
I wonder what the point is right now. That said, it's also the most interesting part of the season for me, and I look forward to unraveling this mystery.

Even if you ignore the bleak future in "Arrow" don't we know one is going to happen anyways from "Legends of Tommorow?" Also I am kind of confused. Is it only the Glades part of the city that is in bad shape while the rest of the city is fine? So you sort of have future where the rich and powerful live in the good part of the city where the poor and exploited get shoved into the Glades. Kind of a "RoboCop " future were society is still intact technically but it's falling apart at the seems. Actually I guess these days I could call that real life as well.

The 150th episode of “Arrow” showcases a documentary entitled “The Hood and the Rise of Vigilantism” starring Oliver Queen, Felicity Smoak, and the rest of Team Arrow. The documentary is narrated by Kelsey Grammer.
Damn I hate documentary episodes so much. They're the episodes I tend to skip on any rewatch. And in some shows I've even been known to just skip them altogether even on the original broadcast - it depends if there's any likelihood that there will be key ongoing story elements introduced or explained.
Could be that I just haven't seen any yet. I'll live in hope that this one is one of the good ones. But I'm not generally a big fan of the documentary style in general. Even for actual documentaries. There have been some good "documentary" episodes here and there.
"Hello Star City, I'm listening".
I really wonder if the present and future storylines will collide somewhere. We're halfway into the season and I feel like the future storyline isn't really necessary to where the rest of the series is heading. Maybe it has to do with Emiko and Rene taking Justice into their own hands in the Glades, but we're talking about 20 years here. Will Emiko corrupt Rene massively in the next few years?
