Don't worry. Hiddleston will make a surprise appearance where he reminisces about an Asgardian Saxaphone and oddly sports a beard

Ha! I get that. Though I'm more interested in the episode where Loki turned Thor into a frog.

Well, that would make up for the lack of an appearance in Ragnarok. I'm already more interested in that possible series than the Loki one, even before the recent rumor.

Is it weird that I want this more than a Loki or Scarlet Witch show? She was chronically underused in the movies and a riot on AoS and I'd love to see her carry her own show. Hell, for a while there I was hoping they'd have her on AoS as a regular since the movie people seem to be done with her.

More likely it'll take place between AoU & CACW, or maybe even post CACW. The movies do leap over huge swaths of their story and for those watching the movies without knowing they're a couple in the comics, their romance probably seems a little random and unearned.

Not at all. I agree, and I think a lot of other people will too.

Count me in, I think Sif could certainly carry her own show in a way Loki couldn't because she isn't so central to the movies.

I doubt very much anything in these shows will make any situations that could possibly affect the movies' further use of them so Sif is more "wide open", Loki seems to limited.

Also, Sif visited Knowhere and was on AoS, she gets around more, it makes sense she was away on a mission during Ragnarok and in the comics she traveled through space with Beta Ray Bill.

I doubt that simply because it's Disney and they probably want to keep the entirety of the MCU family friendly.

The MCU shows on Netflix are anything but family-friendly.

People have long had this persistent belief that Disney is unwilling to do anything that doesn't fit their family brand, but that's forgetting that Disney is a corporation whose primary goal is to make all of the money. They've been trying to diversify into more adult material for decades now, going back to the '70s and '80s when they started making more adult-oriented movies like The Black Hole and TRON and Something Wicked This Way Comes, eventually creating the Touchstone Pictures imprint for their more adult stuff so the perceptions attached to the Disney name wouldn't get in the way.

Acquiring Marvel can be argued as furthering the diversification of their portfolio.

Yes, exactly. Same with acquiring Star Wars. They made a lot of money selling stuff such as Disney Princess merchandise to girls, and they wanted to add properties that would let them sell more merchandise to boys. People feared that they'd change Marvel and SW to fit the Disney style, but that was the last thing Disney wanted; they wanted those franchises to stay as they were so they'd still draw in the same audience, but with the profits going to Disney instead of somebody else. (Although I feel they have overly Disneyfied the Muppets, stripping them of their edge and maturity.)

The difference being those shows were on Netflix as shows deliberately stated has something different and separate from the MCU films. However, Black Widow is already a well-established character within the family-friendly film series.

You left out the best part: From the title text, "CORRECTION: After careful evaluation, we have determined that the axis label on this chart was printed backward."

Captain Jack Harkness was an established character within the family-friendly Doctor Who, but that didn't stop them from spinning him off into the very adult Torchwood. Besides, the success of Deadpool has made other studios willing to try R-rated superhero movies. Of all the MCU characters, Black Widow is probably the best candidate to headline an R-rated film, given the darkness and violence in her background.

But Captain Jack went to a separate platform, like the Netflix shows were separate despite the references. Black Widow is "just another film" within the MCU tapestry. I could see the MCU having a an R-rated film within it's universe but only if it's a character that hadn't already been established in the MCU and not someone who has been around for more than a decade.

But isn't every movie essentially a separate platform? You have to make a separate effort to go to each movie or buy it on home video. Nobody has to see every movie in a franchise.

Granted, though, if there were an R-rated film made in a generally PG-13 franchise, you can bet there would be parents who are too negligent to pay attention to the ratings and bring small kids along.
