Supergirl - Season Four

It took Brainiac half a season to remember that Winn was the Steve Jobs of the 21st century... Although that could be because time was rewriting Brainiac's memories as the future was readjusting to Winn's inventions.

Can't help but think that Nia's just as much a 1-season-gueststar who's immediately and unrealistically adopted into the family as Sam was last year... and will be quietly dropped at the end of it.

I think she will be around for more than this season but I do agree it's kind of weird how she, like Sam just shows up and all of sudden is part of the inner cliche. What about all those non-talking extra's in the background? Granted this a pure tv trope so it's not a big deal or anything but is something I noticed. I also don't know why Brainy wears his human face at work. With him and Martian Manhunter it's also weird especially in this year when the show is talking about aliens being proud of who they are and not hiding their identity which is exactly what all the alien regulars are doing.

Jason

Brainiac V is hiding from the other Aliens, Machiavellian humans and his own people.

He's from the future.

His presence on Earth, or it becoming common knowledge that time travel is possible, could create a paradox, or just honestly his brain is a treasure trove of very dangerous information that President Baker, Lex Luthor or Darkseid should not get a hold of.

Brainiac knows how long President Baker stays in office, and what ousts him, if he has even a school child's understanding of early 21st century world affairs.

Or maybe in the 21st century no one (local) yet knows what or where Colu is?

It's altogether possible that Colu isn't part of the local collection of known planets, and you may even need 30th century tech to impel that far into deepest space ( in a fraction of a life time)... Or the Coluans could be disinclined to join the Interstellar community, because they are all assholes. Seriously, read the comics, even the "good" Coluans are dicks, who deserve a good kicking.

Drawing the Coluans, if they are absent, into galactic politics "early" would also create a paradox radically changing the 21st and 31st centuries.

(I doubt any of this has occurred to the Supergirl writers, so don't worry, be happy.)

I've been binging Supergirl for the last 10 days because of needing some distraction from personal stuff. I went from mid season 1 to beginning season 4.

And I gotta say, this show is fire. I mean, sure sometimes it is all but subtle. But it is relevant. And honest. And heartfelt. The humor is on point I feel, some amazing character dynamics. I've just started season 4, I really can't wait for more Supergirl in my life.

Yes, yes, and yes. So nice to see a thread bump during this subjectively endless hiatus for something so positive and enthusiastic. Welcome to my happy place, and glad you're enjoying.

What do you mean Steve Jobs of the 21st Century? Aside from the fervent fans of Macintosh computers, I'm not so sure anyone knew who Steve Jobs was prior to 2000....

Darkseid? Have we heard somewhere that Darkseid is going to be on Supergirl sometime?

Lets see now, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak started in Apple circa 1976. Steve Jobs ran the company, let the team that designed the Lisa and the Mac, left Apple, founded NeXT, came back to Apple and saved it from going completely down the shitter.

TLDR plenty of reason people would have heard of Steve Jobs even if without being an Apple fanatic whether they followed the IT industry, were into the stock market etc etc.

Umm...no

I remember seeing Apple as "out there" computers back in the 80s and 90s. I don't recall anyone who were really all that for Apple. You may have known about him.., but Steve Jobs wasn't the household name he was in the 2000s....

If they weren't an "apple fanatic", not following the IT industry or into the stock market as you suggested, I'd say many of them wouldn't still know who he was until the 2000s....

I guess having grown up in Silicon Valley, my experience was different. My first computer was a Mac as were the ones owned by many of my friends.

I wasn't particularly into Apple or the tech industry or any of that, but I'm sure I was aware of the name "Steve Jobs" well before 2000. It's not like his involvement with the company was some deep secret; he was a pretty prominent figure in business, so his name came up in the news from time to time. Heck, he co-founded Pixar, so it's not like he was only known in obscure tech circles.

It's going to sound weird, but.... On Second Christmasday/Boxing Day my girlfriend left me, we'd been together for nearly 11 years. The relationships in Supergirl made me reflect a lot on what went wrong between us, what I did, what she did,how we both grew apart despite still loving eachother. The show really helped me get a grip on some things in the last 10 days.

Drat! On my old device I was caught up, but now I'm behind at reading other people's posts here, thanks to the transition from that device to this one.

But anyway, I wanted to alert people here, that Tyler is appearing has himself of course, in tonight's, "Match Game". I think that this will be my first time to see him not be any of his characters in, "Supergirl".
(I just finished seeing the repeat of the episode in which he plated
