Prepare to see more Tom Cruise starring films from Paramount.
Unless the movie is just Tom Cruise in a room for two hours, I'm not sure they can afford it at this point.

The only reason why it was pushed back was so that it could participate in the 2009 summer movie season. That delay was purely a marketing decision as the movie was otherwise finished.Actually Paramount approached Abrams in 2006 and then they started filming in 2007 with a release date of December 2008, before it got pushed back to May 2009.

2024 (exactly 30 years after the end of TNG) we get...

The Kurtzman shows are next.

The production company has lost the CG assets of the ‘09 Starfleet ships, and Eaglemoss is waiting for them to share the E-A but has not received anything. They've been quoted before as saying they were waiting to see if the design changed for ST4 before doing one. Now we know there won't be a Star Trek 4...
