Wow, I was surprised when I saw her name associated with this kind of movie. She's definitely not someone who comes to mind when I think of comic book movies.

I believe Julie Andrews role is providing the voice of a creature called Karathen. Karathen according to some sources is the giant creature that we see at the end of the trailer.

Basically 100% positive social media reactions, though from what they are saying, I'd expect a final RT score in the 60s and 70s.

Warner Bros./DC’s “Aquaman” has already had a humongous opening in China, earning $93.6 million and accounting for 85 percent of all box office business in the Asian market this weekend.

It’s a watershed moment for WB, as “Aquaman” has set a new studio record for Chinese openings that’s 66 percent ahead of the previous record set by “Ready Player One” earlier this year. It’s also the biggest December opening ever in China box office history.

Aquaman’s arrival in Chinese theatres dwarfs those of his DC comrades and Marvel counterparts. This opening weekend is 92 percent higher than the Chinese opening for “Justice League,” the film that marked Aquaman’s cinematic debut,” and is 56 percent higher than the Chinese opening for “Black Panther.” It has also eclipsed the entire Chinese total of “Wonder Woman,” which opened to $37.6 million in China and completed its theatrical run with $90.4 million.

The film next opens in 40 more international markets before arriving in the U.S. on December 21. Independent trackers are predicting a $100 million-plus five-day domestic opening for “Aquaman,” allowing it to easily top the charts on Christmas weekend.

The Verdict
The glee that director James Wan clearly has playing in the world of Aquaman is infectious. He’s made a movie for both types of 10-year-olds: literal kids and those who are 10 at heart. Aquaman is one hell of a popcorn movie – a fun time and a big bet for the DC movie universe that pays off in creating an exciting new realm for future installments to hopefully explore further. Wan’s geeky epic is chock-full of ridiculous elements and, on paper, it really shouldn’t work as well as it does, but it’s all so inherently weird and brazenly bonkers that the siren call of this giddy, otherworldly romp is hard to resist.

RT score is in - 73%. Much better than what Snyder has gotten since MOS, but probably not good enough to overcome the ridicule this character tends to get. Domestic flop expected.
