Absolute Worst Voyager Episode Ever?

I loved "Twisted"! The idea of the rooms on the ship rearranging themselves and everyone getting lost was creative. And Captain Janeway getting long bendy arms and then talking like a stroke victim was very unsettling, as was the graphic of the heavily distorted USS Voyager.

I like "Twisted" too.
But I don't buy the concept of the ship being so twisted that some quarters ends up on the wrong deck without any visible damage to the ship itself. I think that most of it was some mind-manipulation from the aliens who made the Voyager crew believe that the ship had become so twisted.

As an episode, "TWISTED" did not work for me, mainly due to execution of concept. Same reasons as "THE FIGHT".

I will, however, give them both points for creativity, as both had very unique scenarios/aliens. Overall, this was VOYAGER's biggest problem... they had some really clever, unique, great ideas, but the execution fell so flat and sort of meandered that the series as a whole never quite reached the level it should have been.

Not saying the other shows didn't have their clunkers, but it just felt middling. Still a very enjoyable series, and I'll always be a fan.

Fury is great. Old Kes, the Vidiians, B'Elanna dead, Janeway killing Kes, the fact one of the good guys went bad. Love it.

Count me as someone who also loved Fury. I liked that Kes's ascension didn't go as planned. If young Kes had been more like older Kes from the get go she might have actually been interesting.

Plus it was good to see the vidiians again.

I can't understand how anyone can like that isnulting piece of s**t.
I don't know if you had any favorite character or who it might have been but I sincerely wish that this possible favorite character would have been destroyed in the same disgusting way as Kes was.

I also sincerely wish that everyone who likes this s**t episode will face the same dissapointment as I have had by losing something which was a great interest or entertainment. That would give me as much pleasure as what watching Voyager once was.

Because other people have different tastes than you?

Kes was for me a pretty boring character and Lien was a subpar actress. I usually skip her episodes when i rewatch the series. Voyager was better for it when they moved her on. Fury at least gave closure character in my opinion.

Meh, people bag the shit out of things I like all the time. It doesn't bother me or hinder my enjoyment, because i don't have to take ownership of other people opinions. Also it's just a tv show and none of it is real. Why should everyone have to like what i like?

I think that Lien was an excellent actress, that Kes was a great character and that the series lost a lot when the scumbags in charge threw her out.

The s**t episode in season 6 was no "closure" but deliberate character destruction meant to insult a large group of fans who wanted kes back for the final season.

Of course you are free to have your opinion even if I strongly dislike it. People's opinions are theirs, not mine.
But, I'm curious, do you have any favorite series or favorite character. I just want to know so I can celebrate the day the series is cancelled or the character killed off.

You appear to be unhinged. Reminds me of Kes in Fury.

Wow, Lynx. I have respected your opinions (and still do) based on you being a lover of VOY, even when I staunchly disagree with you, but if there was an "unlike" tab I would hit it right now.
Wishing ill or negatively on another person because they don't share your opinion is pretty low, especially when we are discussing something as menial as a television series, and esp. when there are bigger fish to fry in the form of people suffering or dying globally for any number of reasons (genocide, mass shootings, famine and plague) that totally supersede any sort of "entertainment".

Well, you are actually right. It wasn't the nicest thing to do and I shouldn't have done it. My apologies.

On the other hand, I didn't wish him any personal bad luck or so. I would never do that. I have nothing against him and I wish him all personal luck in the world. Losing a TV series is nothing devastating, it happens over and over again.

Not exactly. The pathetic wreck we saw in the s**t episode had no reason att all to be mad at her former crewmates. I, on the other hand do actually have a reason to be p***ed off over certain events, even if I admit that I acted very stupid this time.

She was old, senile and confused. Clearly something went very wrong for her once she left Voyager. The character development happened off screen but the episode makes it clear her life went to shit and in her confused, dying state she mistakenly blamed the crew of Voyager for all of it.

Ha-ha, it's funny to see a really old thread come back to life again. I wonder how it was found as there was an 8 year gap between posts, but I digress.

Hands down my least favorite Voyager episode, in fact of all Star Trek is "Threshold". It's just bad IMO. The warp 10 barrier is an interesting concept but the whole retro-evolution thing just had me going WTF. Where did that come from?

Some of the other episodes cited have their ups and downs. I wasn't a huge fan of "Fury" for instance, though Kes was sort of redeemed at the conclusion. What was jarring for me is she suddenly comes back all ticked off and you have no reason why. Terok Nor provides a possible reasoning, but the problem is that isn't in any well developed. It's pretty bad when you have to assume a motive by empirical evidence. "Hmm, I guess something happened to her?" With that information in hand it might have gone better.

"The Fight" was another I wasn't a huge fan of, though I usually like those weird dreamlike episodes. I can watch it but it's only a step above "Threshold" and only because of the weird dream like quality. I saw "Mortal Coil" in an earlier post and I actually liked that one. I generally found Neelix annoying as a character, that episode was one of the few rare exceptions. Perhaps it's because I'm a person of faith myself....I could sympathize with Neelix in that case. I also can understand Chakotay there, that we really don't know what happens after death. It was the very kind of philosophical question that makes Star Trek famous. Also, the question was raised did Seven really have a right to bring Neelix back from the dead. It has a lot of powerful questions, and like any really good philosophical debate, there is no easy answer.

"Twisted" gets a lot of flack, but to be honest, I always like those weird things aren't right sort of episodes. I can't help it. But I get why people might not like it.

Honorable mention: the one where Chakotay and Seven get marooned on a jungle planet--and nothing at all interesting happens.

Was this the episode?

http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Natural_Law_(episode)

Chakotay and Seven get trapped on a planet under a protective shield that protects the natives from the more advanced civilization on the same planet. Chakotay obviously feels an affinity for the natives due to his own Native American ancestry. I actually didn't mind this particular episode too much, as it throws the question out there about whether the more primitive natives are better off with or without contact and technology.

It also had what I thought was an amusing side story about Paris having to go through Flight lessons because he broke a local traffic law. The premise is a bit nutty, but Paris' reaction to the situation is pretty funny. He can fly circles around most pilots and he has to basically show he know what a gas and brake pedal are, and the teacher couldn't care less how good a pilot he was.

Nah, that was pure BS constructed by Tricky Dick and his lap dogs Braga and Fuller in an attempt to humiliate and destroy a beloved character in order to inslult those of the fans to that character who had the audacity to want that character back. There were no substance in that crap, no background stories describing the aging of the Ocampa in that way or how an energy being could possibly age, no reason for the pathetic witch in that "story" to even want any sort of "revenge" on her best friends.
It was just a badly written episodes made up by a bunch of clowns who should have kept up what they were best at, which was showing up Seven from all possible angles and come up with stories of that character which they had a curious success in.

There was nothing curious about Seven's success. She was a brilliantly written character played by an excellent actress.

I do, however, agree with Damian. We're forced to make assumptions about what happened to Kes after she left and thats bad writing. I still enjoy the episode though.

I agree about Ryan being an excellent actress. However, I'm not too fond of the character Seven who was too much of the "sex sells" koncept and too much of Rick Bernan's wet dreams.

The only assumption that is necessary is that the disgusting, pathetic creature we saw in that lousy excuse for a Star Trek episode wasn't the real Kes which is a logical conclusion since the witch had no resemblance at all to the real Kes.

The best thing had been if that s****y episode never had been made at all.
