Star Trek TAS had what I thought was a pretty brilliant comic-relief episode where the ship's computer acquires a personality pulling pranks on the crew, in which I felt was like an episode of The Orville. Would work quite well on that show.

I have no idea. This is, what, the second time in a week you've tried this "Why do I get the feeling" construct to put words in other posters mouths.
You know, the only people who actually appear to have a pressing interest in promoting characters from the TOS era on STD are - ready for it? - the show's producers. I don't know if you've noticed, but they've pushed Pike and Spock to the forefront of their PR effort for the new season...all while everyone demurs politely as to their importance.

Orville already did a pratical joke episode so i'm not sure they would go for it. I actually think it would work on "Discovery." Culber is returned to human form and he isn't quite right and has the personality of himself as a child and plays pranks but as his slowly gets his memories and personality back so does his trauma of being killed and also his love for Stamets. Starts out cutesy and ends in a mix of sadness but also love.

Which would be something they lift directly from Peter David's New Frontier novels. Where the character Morgan Primus becomes the Excalibur's computer.
Being legally vindicated does not mean the entire command structure has moved on and forgiven her for it.
But it seems like they kind of already forgave her during the season. It's possible Pike or even Spock might have a issue but I think the show has kind of resolved that storyline so I am not expecting to do much more in regards to her mutiny unless they can connect it whatever they are doing this season. I mean I am sure it will come up from time to time but I don't see it being the main thrust on anything going forward.

Pike will fix it.
Not just anyone, they would have to be qualified. And Pike would require a legitimate reason to relieve Saru of his position of first officer of the Discovery.
Plus being relieved could seriously damage Saru's career.
Didn't seem to damage Riker's career. Or even Chakotay's career.
None of this was Burnham's fault. Even without the mutiny, there still would have been a war. The Klingons obviously wanted one, and they were going to get it, no matter what. Because that's just what Klingons do.
Wasn't that in TOS as well with the female only society reprogramming their computer to sound very very seductive.
Well, to be fair, saving Earth is a big deal. It's just weird how often it needs saving.

Burnham got back her commission because she prevented the Federation from committing genocide and destroying their reputation. Stopping the Klingons' war against the Federation helped.
On a personal level, I dislike a lot of what McFarlane does. I really hate Family Guy and the other shows. I was not at all impressed with anything from the Orville before it came out. Gave it a shot, honestly, to watch it crash and burn. Lo and behold, it didn't suck. Not only that, but it got better after every story, peaking at "Pria", then holding that standard most of the rest of the season, and surging higher with "Mad Idolatry".
Ed is a fun main character, TBH. He's got compassion, he listens to his people, he's tricky and kind of easy to relate too.
Burham is, well, not fun to watch.
