I think you'd make a great conspiracy theorist.

I was under the impression Isaacs was brought on for his star power. They rode Lorca all the way then threw him under the bus. Job done. He was not supposed to be the lead. If he rocks up for Season Two I wouldn't object but again there is a risk of these 'support' characters stealing the show. Season Two already has Pike and Number One and Spock! At some stage the Discovery crew have to stand alone.Captain Lorca's 'big secret' has been revealed, and with the character vilified, dead and vaporized, and Chrispher Pike in command of Discovery, it seems like Jason Isaacs has a perfect exit opportunity.
Isaacs was reticent from beginning about playing Captain Lorca (and to a certain degree, about the Star Trek franchise in general). By his own admission, he had to be coerced into accepting the role through promises of creative control over his character - in particular, he wanted his character to have a 'big secret' to motivate him.
With that secret now having run its course, and Isaacs not known for playing 'nice guy' parts, as well as being very lukewarm about the Lorca role, are we perhaps seeing the seeds being sewn for a replacement of Discovery's captain? The fact that Anson Mount, a well-respected and marketable actor, has been brought in to fill the void left by Isaacs seems to suggest that the showrunners are looking for a new long-term relationship.
DISCLAIMER: I know that Jason Isaacs is on the casting sheet for Season 2. This doesn't mean that he's going to feature heavily - it could be little more than flashback scenes.

Nor was he attacking you.Try using less overt hostility in your replies. No one is attacking you.
I still think the twist would have been better served by having him claim to want to take over the Terran Empire to bring Federation Style reforms to his universe, pitting burnham between a version of her old captain and her new captain. Especially with the gray area hanging over mirror Lorca where no one will know if he is lying or not about being good. Maybe Prime Lorca should have been really dark and damaged for a federation human, where mirror Lorca is optimistic and hopeful which makes it weird for a Terran. That they are basically both gray area damaged people that are basically identical and that is the only reason he was able to step into his counterparts shoes.

What?? I said *Lorca* was thrown under the bus. The character looked like a prat in the end. They didn't "throw him under the bus." Isaacs was not fired, nor did he quit. He signed on to play Lorca for one season, and one season only, and that is exactly what he did. He was never intended to be a permanent member of the cast.
Save for the fact that Issacs' has hinted at a possible return for Prime Lorca. And Issacs has not demonstrated any reluctance towards the character or Trek in general. He has demonstrated a lot of positivity towards the production and enjoyment. So, I am doubtful that he wants an "out."Captain Lorca's 'big secret' has been revealed, and with the character vilified, dead and vaporized, and Chrispher Pike in command of Discovery, it seems like Jason Isaacs has a perfect exit opportunity.

She's probably still chained to the wall in his basement, waiting for him to come back.I admit I wasn't a huge fan of the "mirror" plot twist, but I still liked Lorca.
Sure, he manipulated the crew into getting him back to his own universe, but while he was ON the ship he did everything he could to help win the Klingon war. I don't think he bore the crew any ill will or anything like that - he just wanted to get home. (His real life in the MU is none of their concern, after all.)
And about that: Burnham said that if Lorca had just admitted he was from the MU and openly asked for the crew's help, that they would have gladly done it. I wonder how true that was.
The one thing Lorca did that I hated, was sleeping with Cornwell. No wonder she was pissed. He posed as his own counterpart in order to get her into bed. (Although it does raise the point, did he have a thing with MU Cornwell as well?)

True, but having him play the alternate (Prime) Lorca is easy enough, and less convoluted than time travel. Michelle Yeoh is back after Prime Georgiou died, isn't she?Lorca is dead. Jason Isaacs would be happy to return, but that would have to be other Lorca, or time travel.
Wait, someone said Prime Lorca is dead? I don't remember that, and at the very least, the novels have made it very clear he is alive.True, but having him play the alternate (Prime) Lorca is easy enough, and less convoluted than time travel. Yeah -- it was said he was dead, but the people who said that could easily have been wrong.
No one said he was dead, they just assumed he was.Yeah -- it was said he was dead, but the people who said that could easily have been wrong.
Yup. It's really not that complicated.True, but having him play the alternate (Prime) Lorca is easy enough, and less convoluted than time travel. Michelle Yeoh is back after Prime Georgiou died, isn't she?
Why? Perhaps he is promoted and heads off on a new expedition.I'd love to see Isaaks again and would love to see him as PU Lorca, perhaps in a return to the MU. But how would they leave it with the character? Unless Isaaks agrees to another deal, won't they have to kill off, or otherwise dispose of PU "Lorca", same as MU Loeca?
