Okj, the real LoT of season 1 wasn't a comedy, or a farce. Obviously at this point it is just Airplane or Scary Movie but PG and with worse writing, but it didn't start that way.

I feel like you just don't like other people's opinions.
But, so? It didn't start that way. Lots of shows shift, finding their right voice. Legends isn't the same show as the other ones. It's now a unique show rather than the same old same old...

    YES.
I mean... Beebo... fucking BEEBO, threaded through the whole season... and then... A GIANT BEEBO wrestling a demon?! AMAZING. It's like the best of the Silver Age... it's wonderful.

And I appreciate the fact that not every superhero show has to be like every other CW superhero show... What's wrong with variety?

Amen. That was . .. sublime.

Honestly, the sillier LOT gets, the better it gets.

And, for the record, I loved the "Fish Fucking Movie," too. Saw it twice and listen to the soundtrack all the time. Was so happy it won the Oscar.

It was never like the other shows. Now, its actually more like them, because its shit just like the rest. A different kind of shit, but still awful.

Also, as a huge silver age comic fan (its not my favorite era, but I enjoy it a lot) its actually offensive to see you compare that teddy bear bullshit to it. That teddy bear is the kind of shit that appeals to 4 year olds or, I suppose, adults on elicit substances. Like a Seth Rogen movie, basically. The silver age was at least clever with its weird, fun goofiness.

What's wrong about a show with her superheroes going through time and having fun but not comedy focused adventures? I loved that show. I just want more of it, even though I know it was killed after Season 1.

No, it used to be a unique, good superhero show. Now its just trash. It had its voice, then the idiots destroyed it. Now its literally just stupid bullshit.

Why can't there just be one good fucking superhero show on TV? Why can't I see a group travel through time, have adventures, and do it while not acting like they're in a fucking Seth Rogen stoner comedy? The premise of the real LoT was great. Underappreciated heroes save the timeline. It was unique, and used characters that deserved more of a focus that they weren't getting in the shows the debuted on. Now its just a bunch of literally useless morons (the ones who aren't dead, or didn't go permanently evil like Rip hunter did) doing stupid shit. The fact that money gets spent on it is offensive. Everyone involved in it at a creative level is a hack, and honestly at this point the only good thing about it is it keeps a group fucking braindead writers and producers from infecting other shows. Not that CW has anything that could get much worse, but still.

Basically, CW destroyed every show on its roster, but LoT and The Flash will always piss me off the most. As much as i liked Arrow Seasons 1 and 2, The Flash Seasons 1-2 and LoT Season 1 are literally the best live action superhero shows of my life time (aka 1990 to now, so not a lot of competition, I suppose), and knowing they're both gone forever for literally no reason then the people running the CW shows are assholes really makes me furious. At this point I've lived through a time with no real live action superhero shows on TV then went into a golden age of superhero lvie action Tv and am now into a dark age of shit, and these last two phases took place over 3-4 years.. So, I'm not going to let this go. I'll remember and talk about the LoT that used to exist, and keep telling the braindead toddler/stoner comedy show that stole its name to fuck off.

Meanwhile, I tend to advise newcomers to skip the first season of LoT, because it didn't really find its voice until Season 2 . . ..

    To each their own.

Yeah, the first season with choppy storytelling, a bland and forgettable villain, the predictable treachery of the time masters, and this epic, timeless love story for the ages between two characters that had zero chemistry. It wasn't exactly stellar. The only thing that I really liked about season 1 was Leonard Snart's arc.

One thing that is kind of a shame is that how the Hawks have been essentially written out of everyone's memories. (Flashpoint?) I had nothing against the Hawks as characters and wouldn't have minded seeing the characters pop up from time to time, just not as regulars or as the focus of the story. it just seems kind of odd that every time there is an all-hands-on-deck situation in the Arrowverse, nobody even says, "hey has anyone talked to the Hawks?"

    Tl;dr

Listen, if you just want people to agree with you, maybe you should post somewhere else.

I think season 2 onwards has been great, by far the most fun superhero show on TV at the moment.

Actually, that could be sound advice.

I was very disappointed in S1 and bailed midseason. I loved the cast, so that was kind of a bummer.

On a user recommendation on this site, I watched the Beebo episodes and thoroughly enjoyed them.

And yeah, being tonally distinct is a good thing. If I ever watch older episodes, I'll just start with S2. Only if the completionist bug becomes unshakable will I go back on watch S1.

As for right now, I'll be giving S4 a try.

I was hoping the previewed line of Constantine saying "The darkness -- it's rising" would indicate some sort of tie-in to the dropped story thread of the "Rising Darkness" from his NBC show, but apparently it was just a wink to the audience. Although maybe not -- it seems they're setting up some mystery of what happened to Constantine over the past 5 months that made him darker than usual.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Legends being more domesticated this season, working directly for the Time Bureau and having the support of their director and all that. I mean, given that they built new sets for Time Bureau HQ and Ava's home, it suggests we'll be seeing those locations regularly.

I wonder why they moved Time Bureau HQ from Star City to DC. Maybe partly to steer clear of Arrow's storylines?
