Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 4

You really need to learn to separate fiction from reality.

I think you need to understand how brains associate things sometimes. Its like mental typecasting. Obviously actors are not their characters, but you'll associate some actors with certain characters very strongly sometimes. Leonard Nimoy will always remind me of Spock, Hugh Jackman will always remind moe of Wolverine, and Brandon Routh will now always remind me of a dumbass making brony jokes way, way past their expiration date. To be fair, I started hating Ted Kor--I mean, Hank Py--I mean, "Ray Palmer" when he lost a bunch of IQ points and starting sleeping with Fake Vixen, so the Brony thing is more like the final nail in the coffin.

You haven't played Batman: The Telltale Series, have you?:whistle:

Yeah, the first "season" at least. It was pretty mediocre, but Caine's Alfred was worse then anything that series did, at least in my playthrough. The sequel, or a different playthrough of S1 I guess, might be different, but really Telltale still "got" Batman more then Nolan ever did, even if their Batman series wasn't very good.

It's not reasonable.

"Ray Palmer"
You do know Ray Palmer existed in the comics before both Hank Pym and Ted Kord right?

Its not reasonable to dislike an actor because of a role?
Yes. I'm not going to let something that was the writers choice, not the actor ruin them for me.

I could understand hating it if Brandon came up with the scene. But it's not his fault so I'm not going to associate it with him.

Yes. I'm not going to let something that was because of the writers not the actor ruin them.

Well, good for you. Its not like I'm blaming the actors. I can't help that I can't stand Caine or Routh anymore, but I don't think its unreasonable. Shit tends to leave a distinctive smell ever when its gone.

Sounds like it to me.

I mean, they didn't have to take the shitty roles, but I'll admit that I can't stand Caine or Routh through stuff that isn't really their fault. It doesn't change the fact that I don't want to watch them, though.

LoT is not a comedy or a farce, none of the CW shows are. It used to be a show with great characters going through time and stopping bad guys. Now its about a bunch of fucking assholes (and Mick) being useless shits and dragging as many useless shitheads as possible through literally the stupidest crap ever done in a DC based production. The real show, season 1, had stakes snd wasn't obsessed with being a "comedy" for sugar addled 4 year olds. The Adam West Batman would look at this show and suggest it should take things more seriously.

Even fucking Deadpool wouldn't do something like the blue teddy bear. Don't try to compare an insulting piece of shit like LoT to a great movie series like Deadpool or GotG. GotG specifically is never a farce, there is a core of seriousness with all the comedy which is why you care for the characters, unlike the shitheads on LoT (outside of Mick, who is still good) who could die and no one would care because they're just one dimensional husks used for "jokes". Also, Shazam is the biggest abomination ever made by DC, so I suppose LoT is kind of the Tv version of that.

Also, superheroes are not silly at their core. That's the opinion of someone too good for them, the kind of people that claim they are somehow inferior to artsy shit (like people who say Black
Panther shouldn't get an oscar even though a terrible, worthless Fish Fucking movie got best picture last year).

It taints the actor in my mind. Like I said, Michael Caine didn't make the shitty Nolan Batman movies, but every time I see his face I just see Alfred being a fucking asshole. Now, all I see with Routh is him making Brony jokes half a decade past their relevance and generally being a shithead.

Ray did what?! Does Nate know about this?

Damn it, I got my bland, generic white dudes mixed up. I wonder how that could have happened, with them being such distinct, interesting characters :rommie: Well, to be fair to Nate, Fake Vixen is still a better love interest then Felicity...

And the award for worst use of a good gif goes to...someone with no real argument outside of hating oposing opinions! Congratulations!

It's hard to know a role is "shitty" before actually doing it.

Doesn't change my feelings on the role, or the actors that did them. You're not going to argue away my at this point instinctual dislike of Caine or Routh, so

To give an honest response, I actually have a sense of humor and I'm able to enjoy things that are just goofy, silly fun.

You can have fun without becoming the PG-13 TV equivalent of Airplane or Scary Movie. Its the line between comedy and insulting farce. LoT was never meant to be a farce in Season 1, it told a real story. At this point its got all the writing talent of those "2 of the 6 producers of Scary Movie" movies, except garbage like Meet the Spartans and Epic Movie still treat their characters with more respect the LoT does.

If I may quote the Ancient One, Kirk, "it's not about you", so you should stop taking this shit so goddamn personally. If you don't like the ride, then get out of the car.

I got "out of the car" after Season 2. The few season 3 episodes I watched were some of the worst non-Season 4 Arrow things ever produced by the CW Arrowverse. That doesn't mean I can't talk about how much I miss the real Legends of Tomorrow from season 1.

Screw this I'm done. No, it's because I don't have response to you, I actually started to write but I realized that it would do is prolong this stupid, pointless, aggravating conversation.

Right. Because season one was such a masterpiece.:guffaw:

It had bad villains, but a great main cast that were actual characters and not jokes. Even Ray and Sara were good characters is Season 1. It was a real show with real characters, not a badly done farce like S2 and especially Season 3 and beyond.
