Looks like we will have a fully bearded Lieutenant Spock on Discovery

What I hope is, they do a Pike era Enterprise series for the 3rd or 4th series and Spock will obviously be clean shaven there.

I don't think they need to keep shoehorning TOS character into Discovery.

We've got Pike, Number One and Spock. They just have to decide which doctor, engineer and other notable crew members are there 8-9 years before Kirk.
They need Doctor Boyce for sure. John Slattery would be good for that role.

Spock does not look as if he did not have grooming equipment. Maybe he grew longer hair and a beard/mustach for his mission?

s a fan, I am appalled and dismayed by the careless disregard for Vulcans as they have been presented in the past. Clearly the production team does not understand Vulcans, or anything at all really, including how beards work. Beards do not spring out of nowhere. They must have a source!!
What about Riker? His beard just appeared out of nowhere. Same with Sisko's. And then there's Geordi who sometimes had a beard only for it to disappear. What was that all about?
He'll shave his beard and his hair and then everybody can freak out about a hairless vulcan.
Like these guys?

There's only one Spock we know from canon who has a beard...

After what was pulled last season, how do we know they won't do it again? You know what that means... Peck is playing Mirror Spock! And he has the real Spock (and real Lorca) tied up somewhere.

Sarek: That my son was an impostor from an alternate universe was not the most obvious conclusion.

Mirror spock was not aware of the prime universe. so that is not the case.

I wouldn't be surprised if Spock did not have grooming equipment. I mean you don't have to see it. Apparently every single Klingon has a secret compartment somewhere where they keep theirs. Like L'Rell when she was imprisoned and later held in the Discovery brig, she was shaving her head every second day to keep it shiny and smooth, I mean shiny and ridged. Spock has a razor somewhere guaranteed... he's just not using it

I find that very unlikely.

But nowhere does "canon" state that our Spock never, ever had a beard.

As noted by others, Star Trek characters sometimes sport facial hair and sometimes they don't, as in the case of Riker, Scotty, Sisko, etc. Heck, look at Lt. Kyle, who didn't have a beard on TOS, but who did in THE WRATH OF KHAN. Does that mean that the Kyle on the Reliant was from the Mirror Universe? Of course not.

Sometimes a beard is just a beard.

What she had her head waxed?

Well, I was wondering why Vulcan never had beard in Star Trek.. I thought it was because of their genetic. But it seems that I'm wrong, after seeing this bearded Spock.

Most likely it's just standard Starfleet procedure to give prisoners any regular grooming equipment they require.

I mean, you have to give them food, water and a basic washroom, so it stands to reason that you also have to let them clean and groom themselves as needed. Just basic ethical treatment of prisoners.

Spock's brother had a beard in the fifth movie, as far back as 1989. And we've seen bearded Vulcans on TAS and VOYAGER as well.

There have been many Vulcans with beards in the franchise, long before Star Trek Discovery.
