That was over 20 years ago. And DSC isn't meant to be that kind of show. The market and delivery method are completely different.
You're comparing apples to rubick's cubes.
Yes, I am comparing apples to Rubik's Cubes, but, that's rather the point of this thread, isn't it?Will the new stuff eclipse the current? I like Michelle Yeoh, I really do. But, she doesn't have the star power, again, in the Anglosphere, that Patrick Stewart does.
I plan on seeing CRA as soon as the mother-in-law gets back from vacation and we have a sitter for our 6yo. Until anyone mentioned it, I had no idea Yeoh was in it. The marketing and publicity have all played up Constance Wu, Awkwafina, Henry Golding and Ken Jeong. Yeoh is by far the most accomplished actor in the movie, but in America they chose not to lead with her. That tells you a lot.
It goes the same for SMG (a truly talented actor). When was the last time you saw someone making a meme about anyone other than Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus or Jeffery Dean Morgan?
This isn't a knock on the other two, they're fine. But Stewart brings more to the table than they did.
