But you just do what they did with Frasier between Frasier and Cheers, change him a little, set up something new. Create a new foil. Maybe have the person who took over for Frasier leaving take all of Niles clients. He is amazing, they could have made it work.

Just like the brother on Everyone Loves Raymond, the show was shit, Raymond is awful, but his brother could have lead his own show.

Hell, they could take the Niles and Frasier show on Broadway. Have them bicker and sing in a stage musical format :D

Maybe Fraser can buy and run the Cheers bar and then you can get two revivals in one show.:)

At this point, I'm surprised Norm didn't just buy it right out seeing as he was always there anyway. Actually, that's not a bad idea. What if Norm and Frasier were to buy it and run it as a partnership.

How about 'Dark Angel', 'My So Called Life',
Or "Moonlight"( not to be confused with 'Moonlighting')
I'm pretty sure on all of those the viewership was me and 5 or 6 others.:wah:

I think it's time for antholgy roboot of a show were each season they reboot it with a new cast and slighlty different premise. How about "Cheers" reboot as one example were you go through 5 Sam and Diane's in a 5-year run with different actors and the bar being different each season. Maybe one year the show is set in the 80's like the old show and maybe the next season it's in Chicago instead of Boston and Sam use to pitch for the Cubs.

Is their is reason not to have Jim in more than 3 episodes? Is the actor simply not interested in coming back full time?

It says it right in the article that he lives in LA and the show is filmed in New York. At 82 that's probably just too much for him.

Glad to read we'll be getting some Jim, if limited for understandable reasons. I'm all the more excited about the new season. Still crossing my fingers for a Lily Tomlin appearance.

Some more news: One episode will be called "#MurphyToo," which will address the #MeToo movement.

In January, when CBS announced that it was reviving Murphy Brown, we noted that the show would be modernizing its investigative journalist action with some bleeding-edge timeliness, as Candice Bergen’s eponymous Murphy Brown would be entering a world of “fake news,” Fox News (called “Wolf Network” in the Murphy-verse), and general attacks on the media. Speaking at a Television Critics Association event today, Murphy Brown executive producer Diane English noted that the revived show would have an episode inspired by #MeToo. “It’s a powerful movement,” English said, adding, “we wanted to do it justice, and the episode title is ‘#MurphyToo.’”

Apparently, the writers had come up with the “#MurphyToo” episode long before the sexual misconduct allegations against CBS CEO Leslie Moonves surfaced at the end of last month from a New Yorker piece by Ronan Farrow. The show won’t specifically address the allegations against Moonves, but English said that everybody on the show takes the sexual misconduct allegations “very seriously,” but nobody has had any “negative experiences in that regard” while working at CBS. This all comes from Variety, which also points out that the end of the show’s original run coincided with the beginning of Moonves time at CBS.

"The Nanny" could have a revival if everyone was up for it.

'course, the humor would have to be updated for the 21st century - direct instead of suggestive...

    "Oh Mister Sheffield!"
"Not now Ms Fine, CC stole my Cialis."

But (being more direct and less suggestive, not like "Nanny" always wasn't originally) worked for "Match Game" and they're a lot more crude...
