While that's true, I vaguely recall DeLancie being just as reluctant to revisit Q on screen as Spiner for reasons of aging. So ultimately it's up to the actors to decide if they want to be seen that way.

This is exactly what makes a continuation of Star Trek so exciting....ANYONE can appear.

Any character, any race....it's just so exciting.

Imagine if you see Neelix just walking around in the background with a hot plate, Worf with his prune juice, Tom Paris with his lizard babies...Janeway with her Irish fancy man...or even Sisko's baseball floating about prophetgeist style! I'd lose my crap! Anything can happen! So exciting.

We are once again going boldly into the future!

I'd like to see some of the DS9 characters in the new show, like Kira. If we do stick with TNG, maybe B-4 or Geordi.

The return of Sisko in STP (Star Trek: Picard)! Hey why not a DS9 or Voyager character as well as TNG

Brooks has said he is done with Star Trek. I doubt he is coming back. That's why I said Kira. Ithink Visitor would want to come back if given the opportunity.

    Seriously, Guinan would be cool.

    Imagine if she was 2399 Picard's wife:eek:

I'd like to see Nella Darren :)

Definitely Dr Beverly would have to appear.

I have no interest in seeing Jonathan Frakes.

The guy appears in DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise, then gets in the media and complains about Paramount making 'all these shows.'

Now here he is directing Discovery and you-just-watch, he's gonna want a piece of the Picard thing too. All these shows, indeed.

And just for a moment back on the Nella Darren thing. Riker was a first class jerk to Picard over his relationship with her. First, he whinges that Darren is making him 'uncomfortable.' Then he selects her for a death mission, which is what ultimately broke them up. Pretty slack.

    Definitely Bev and Wesley.

Worf and O’Brien might as well, TPTB love squeezing them in. Also, Geordi and Data (in some form) probably.

I don’t know about Riker...I would hope he’d have his own command and wouldn’t be still working under Picard in some form, even though I’d like to see him in the show.

I would LOVE to see Q again. He was always one of my favorite recurring characters.

If "Data" were on the show, personally I would prefer TPTB recast the role.

No Q please, generally disliked super powerful beings.

    *************************

Picard retired from Starfleet a few years after Nemesis.

He occupied the first two decades of his retirement as a "gentleman adventurer." Archaeologist, consulting detective, researcher, explorer, briefly the captain of a "pirate ship," There were old friendships and new, affairs, his brief marriage to Beverly (a couple of years) and occasional loneliness.

Now home based out of his vineyard in France, as the show begins we see Picard writing his extensive memoir, the show main body exist as flashbacks from the two decades between leaving Starfleet and the show's beginning.

This will allow the show to "jump around" in time, showing various Picard adventures.

No, Picard would never be captain of a "pirate ship" (implies something nefarious or illegal, which is against his character). You're confusing him with Han Solo.

Q might age his appearance for no reason other than to taunt Picard for his advancing age.

In the movies we begin to see a different side of Picard. Perhaps owing to his age he is seen to be more adventurous, willing to take more personal risks.

In the last episode of TNG we find out that he later marries Beverly, the series Picard held Beverly at a distance romantically.

The movies (FC and INS) show a Picard who's willing to buck the rules of establishment if he personally disagrees.

TNG covered seven years of Picard's life, the series I propose will cover twenty years. People change with time.

    And sometimes change back.
