If Floyd County Productions (Archer's studio) got the Trek animated series job I'd be ecstatic. It's got the right level of "realism". For example all the cars and such are identically proportioned to their real world counterparts so that would make the Trek Tech guys happy.
Indeed. Unlike the Kelvin Enterprise size scandal.

WAIT! Wait! Wait.. Okay, soooooo.. there IS a Star Trek Cartoon series in the works? HOLY #@%$! I hope it's TNG, or TAS the continuation.. or Phase II Trek transition from TAS to The Phase II design, which could bridge the gap between the classic era and the Movie-verse, which would be a full on beloved addition to the universe. I would recommend a style of art that harkens to the Filmation era, but employs better movement and cinematic style for the modern viewer, that would be cool. Start out TOS style and then transition to the Red uniforms and Phase II Enterprise. another 5 year adventure, at the end Captain Kirk is promoted to Admiral, and BOOM! Instant cash cow! Promotes interest in the classic TOS and TAS DVDS and Blurays, along with streaming them or the movies. Classic figures based on the new Animation would sell, as well as rereleases of the Classic TOS and TAS era, along with ships and the new ships from the animation. Release them on SyFy or something, or CBS streaming, and make sure to sell the seasons in all the stores and AMAZON.

Now that's the way you milk it bringing back the old fans, and enticing the new ones to explore the early years of TREK and what established it as a Cultural Icon.

Out..

Only one flaw in that theory:

The TMP uniforms came first ;)

Ah Crap! Well..

Hey, I know! Retcon that and blame it on the 25% different rule. LOL

Didn't the Star Fleet ships game have only the TAS license, which they treated almost like an alternate reality? I used to play it, it was fun. It did that, which could get some validation if they took that tack, I accepted it and thought it was pretty cool, cause in that table top miniature game, the Classic era was much more robust, and kinda even more interesting. I loved the three armed alien where chekov once sat. That was cool, and the feline humanoid species on the bridge, that scene in Star Trek I forget which movie, where Kirk storms that base, and that feline lady jumps him, I got such a geek thrill because it brought back TAS memories of that character. I always wondered if Kirk hit that. LOL

Scandelous. How dare Starfleet upsize to face down a gigantic starship from a Romulan threat.

Ridiculous.
Heh heh heh.. I was merely citing the debate, not taking a side..

Psssst!!
I like the bigger scale, Starships should be massive. But the TOS version is cozy and I'd actually live there no problem. Tho, I prefer TNG's scale and modern stuff like replicators, and any TV ever!

I'd replicate the most high calorie shit that actually makes you loose weight and has no calories or carbs, just protein disguised as lasagna, or pizza, or fried chicken. sigh, being on a perpetual diet sucks..

Yes, given the way the TNG era came down, I think I could live on that ship and still survive all the drama and call it home. I wouldn't live on Voyager. I wouldn't live on Discovery either. DS9 oh yea, that would be cool.

If I can see myself living on one of the ships, then that works for me, scale and style. amenities are also considered. That's kinda how I judge some of the ships.

But I'm not interested in living on the Kelvin Enterprise. I'd probably break into a seizure from all the lens flares.

No, they had access to all of TOS and TAS as licensing. However, they based a lot of their work on the Technical Manual and created a divergent timeline as a result. Which, in my opinion, is pretty cool. :)

I agree about the TOS ship design. I like both equally as well, but the Kelvin Enterprise is one that I would work on while the TOS one feels like one I would want to live on. If that makes sense.

Also, sorry about the diet. Just go with tea. Supposed to be good for you. I mean, look at Picard ;)

well I am thin. I can't drink tea, because I am allergic, an enzyme in the tea leaf causes my esophagus to swell up and my stomach to backfire.. not a good thing to experience.

I just would take advantage of the TNG enterprise replicators to eat what ever I wanted with no consequences.. Now that would be life in the future among the stars!

On that point, we can agree. No meals in a cup!

But if Disco is prime and the Discovery is 750m... ;)
"I am not a crook!"
"I did not have sexual relations with that woman!"
"There's no collusion!"
"The Kelvin Enterprise is the same size as the Original!"

Hmmmm. One of these scandals doesn't fit. I think I'll go with the last one.
The original Enterprise now looks totally different and is much bigger. Are any of those other Enterprise size people still online? Or did they go to live in the woods or something?

I was talking about the Kelvin Enterprise.
Yeah but if Disco is the Prime Universe and anything in it overwrites TOS (as we are supposed to accept), they didn't scale up the ships because the Disco ships are all ginourmous too.

If that weird retconning makes any sense.

Since I never was married to a particular size of the TOS ships it isn't that big of a retcon to me. In other words, it doesn't impact my enjoyment of the show itself.

Just wondering, where do all these sizes come from anyway? I'm pretty sure I watched all of Trek I never had any sense of how big anything was supposed to be.

Blueprints, technical manuals, Encyclopedias and whatnot from 1975-present. Here's the updated Ency from last year:
