Weird Win 10 Login Problem

My wife changed her laptop login password last night. She does this each month for security reason. However, the new set password is no longer accepted by the laptop after reboot this morning. it is HP ENVY X360. Anyone know what happens?

A Microsoft update wiped out registry changes perhaps? There have been a lot of updates recently. Does the previous password work?

Did your wife update Windows 10 before ? The easiest way is to crack it with a password disk or login into your Microsoft account .

Try CAPS LOCK the other way.

It's also possible the new password was miskeyed. Even when you're asked to confirm it, can still make the same mistake twice. Been there done that and it's often related to the capitlisation or the use of special characters and not hitting shift.

Yes. MS pushes update from time to time.

it is not a typo for sure. thanks

I think what you both just learned is that changing the password every 30 days is pointless unless you can also set the BIOS to lock out booting from a CD or a USB drive and set a password on the BIOS. ;)
I created a password reset disk and Just plug it into the locked computer , them made the computer restart from it ,i can got into computer without a password ,

Since this thread had been abandoned for a year I thought I could at least have some fun with it and to be honest, it is a valid solution, you will solve the problem that way.:shifty::whistle:;)
