I'm hoping/assuming it will be a huge, deep RPG in the vein of The Witcher series but in a Cyberpunk future setting.
Yeah, same here. It's definitely pretty, I'll give them that, but there are too few details to really know what kind of game to look forward to. Makes me feel like it's going to be a 3rd person game, but I could be totally wrong. Sony got the best presentation of them all, I feel. The Last of Us II trailer looks amazing. That scene at the dance looks really good. It looks like TV quality scene setting, with some stuff that wouldn't have been possible a few short years ago. It's in the facial animations and body movements There are a few moments where you can tell it's computer generated, but for the most part, just an amazing looking job. For someone who's not into games, they'd likely not realize they're not real. Ghosts of Tsushima also looks really cool. Though part of it looks a bit janky at times.
I'll give the win to Microsoft. Sony might slightly win out on games if I'm being objective, but Microsoft had a greater variety of games and genres on display for all players. Sony's decision to move the entire audience leading to a 15 minute intermission was a terrible idea and that killed the pacing of their presentation. Nintendo had pretty much nothing to show this year except for Fire Emblem and Smash, so they come in a close third. Nobody had a great presentation though.
My thoughts on what I've seen: The Last of Us Part 2: Wow, just wow. I've never been shy to express my love for the first one, and this trailer just blew me away. Ghost of Tsushima: I'm a huge Sucker Punch fan going back to the Sly Cooper days, and this looks great to me. Death Stranding: Still kind of a WTF for me. I've been following it pretty closely since it was first annouced and I still have no idea what the hell it's going to be. Cyberpunk 2077: Intriguing. I'm playing The Witcher 3 right now, and it's great, but this sounds like it'll be a very different kind of game, so it's hard to judge based on that. It definitely sounds like they have some good ideas, so if they can pull it off it could be awesome. Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Looks great. I really need to replay the first one and play Rise of the Tomb Raider. Spider-Man: Pretty much my number 2 most anticipated game behind TLoUP2. Insomniac is one of my favorite game developers and Spider-Man one of my favorite superheroes so this is pretty much perfect for me. Love their new designs for the villains. Beyond Good and Evil 2: If they can actually live up to these trailers and their ambitions this could be amazing. Starlink: Intriguing. AC Odyssey: I'm a huge AC fan, and this looks like it has potential to be one of the best games in the series yet. As much as I enjoyed the games set closer to today, I actually find these games set farther back in the past even more interesting. I'm definitely going to need to play Origins sometime soon.
Did Nintendo even show the 3DS? I know it's a rather dead system but I have one and I thought it had a few more games left in it.
