The 10 best shows on tv right now regardless of genre?

Shows still in production (or going to have another season at least) that I think are just absolutely top notch.

GOT
Westworld
The Expanse
The Travelers
Counterpart

I'm not currently watching any non-genera shows. The only TV shows and movies I'm interested in are usually scifi of some type. And there are other scifi shows I watch that are still in production, but they aren't as good as the ones in my list. I used to think The 100 was one of the best shows on TV, and it was IMO during its first couple of years, not so much now. I still keep up with it though.

Not in any order.

Colony
The Expanse
The Good Place
Mr. Robot
Doctor Who
The Middle
black-ish (Minus the latest storyline)
Westworld (Season 1 only)
Roseanne
Atlanta

I've seen some support for "Mr Robot" but I am shocked that I haven't seen it on more people's list. If your not watching this you really need to see it.

I just picked up the first season DVD set of Mr. Robot at my local library. Looking forward to checking it out.

I watched it in 2015 with an ex of mine. I made it about 5 episodes, I think he ditched after 3-4. Watch it as it's adde to Prime and it's so good. My ex is just a POS. I like the second season more than the first. Rami Malek is amazing.

I loved season 1, thought season 2 got a bit pretentious, but season 3 was much improved from that.

I think Mr. Robot is brilliant. I don't know how I left it off my list. As mentioned, Rami Malik is incredible in the lead role. But I think it's Sam Esmail, the show's creator, and I believe, director of all or most of the episodes, who is the show's real star.

It is just beautifully shot. In fact, in season two, there are a series of episodes where the camera angles are actually a part of the episode's stories. Don't think I'v ever seen that before.

I heard Esmail on a podcast once. The guy is a serious film buff and brings a lot of that to his approach to the show.

I cannot recommend it more highly.

All three seasons of Mr. Robot have been outstanding.

Of all episodes, I've probably rewatched S2E6 the most, the one where Elliot thinks he's in a sitcom. It's just so amazing. But every season has masterpieces.

Esmail is certainly the hero for this incredible creation. Malek is excellent as are Christian Slater and the entire cast.

1. Better Call Saul

2. Game of Thrones

3. Stranger Things

4. Rick and Morty

5. Curb Your Enthusiasm

6. The Americans

7. Barry

8. Vikings

9. Westworld

10. The Orville

The shows I'm excited about right now:

American Ninja Warrior
The Orville
Stranger Things
Doctor Who - really looking forward to the new season
Lost in Space
Unbreakable Kimmy Scmidt (I'm waiting a bit to see season 5 since it's split up anyway)
Orange is the New Black
The Good Place

Also I just got Amazon Prime so after Babylon 5 I want to see the expanse. I've heard many great things about it.

I don't know if they're the best but they're the ones I like:

Better Call Saul
Black Mirror
Everything Sucks!
F is for Family
Inside Amy Schumer
Orange Is the New Black
Star Trek: Discovery
Stranger Things

That's only eight shows but I'm reserving the other two slots for The Americans and The Expanse because they've been recommended to me even though I haven't seen them yet.

I've never seen Game of Thrones in my life. I might like that.

But The Walking Dead? I'm sure it's great, but it doesn't sound like my cup of tea.

Unbreakable Kimmy Scmidt

Unbreakable Kimmy Scmidt only has 4 seasons, then they will make a movie to wrap it up.

Also the Expanse is one of my favorite shows ever, it's like a modern take on A Space Odyssey series.

I know. I haven’t seen the first part of season 4 yet. The season 5 was a bit of a typo.

Good. I just didn't want you to finish season 4 and then being disappointed there isn't a season 5.

The way the season is broken up, you would think when the show comes back next year it will be season 5. Heck, I read an interview last week saying that the show will come back in January of 2019 and it will be like a mini-season 5.

In no particular order:

My personal favorites

Scifi/fantasy
Westworld
Game of Thrones
Counterpart (I cannot recommend this strongly enough)
Legion
Stranger Things
Supernatural
American Gods
Walking Dead

Drama
The Crown
Happy Valley (a rumored third season is supposed to air in the last few months of this year)
Collateral (mini-series)
I would love to add Mind Hunter but the second season has been bumped to 2019. Argh.
