Everyone has told a racist (not matter the level) joke sometime in their life. Let’s be honest.
I don't think hating racists is the problem here.Honestly, just anyone who wants to find an excuse to keep us divided and hate. There is so much to go around
I'm just so disappointed in a way. As much as there is a distrust and hurting surrounding various political issues I think the show opened up an insight that wasn't nearly as damaging as people were worried about. It was kind of clever. Roseanne just spoiled everything.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't learn better.
What's your point? Everyone has probably said or done something that could be taken as racist or bigoted either intentionally or not. It's a problem if you proudly keep doing it and think there's nothing wrong with it.
Racists tend to fuck things up in one way or another. We should blame them instead of the people who responded to it. Otherwise the solution is to ignore racism and pretend it isn't happening.
And... does that make it right? If we're being honest.

Of course not. But to cancel the entire show because of it seems rather extreme. Like others have said, the show could work without her.
The bizarre thing was having something out in the open is better in some ways, and by that I mean the show giving light to various attitudes in its stories. I don't mean Roseanne herself with her tweets that is simply inexcusable.
It's not extreme. It's a pretty racist tweet done by someone who works for the House of Mouse. You think ABC/Disney wants to be working with someone prone to making racists "jokes"? They should've checked her history before hiring her.

Apparently the show has been removed "effective immediately" from our Ten Network in Oz.
"Network Ten is appalled and disgusted with Ms Barr's racist tweet and has removed Roseanne from TEN and ELEVEN, effective immediately," a spokesperson said in a statement on Wednesday.
(That would be the re-runs too I would guess).
