Final Space, anyone else watching this?

I looked, I searched and I could not find a thread for this.

As much as I wanted to hate this obvious knee jerk reaction to the popularity of Rick and Morty this show is pretty good and very funny. Even though I hated "The Gary" at first he grew on me. The supporting cast is talented and heir characters are much more likable than Gary is or ever will be.

If it's like rick and morty I'll probably like it. Hopefully hulu or Netflix has it
My reason for saying that Sophie is that the main character is loud, obnoxious and kind of unlikable. Other than that it's a very different story but still a good show. The voice cast is amaze-balls; Tom Kenny, Stephen Yeun, David Tenant and several others.

Found it about halfway through. Fortunately, TBS was rerunning all the previous episodes in late night so I got all caught up on the DVR. I enjoyed it, looking forward to season 2.

It took me a few eps to warm up to it. Still not a big fan of Gary but he grows on you like that one annoying friend that you grudgingly like. The animation is excellent and the "science" is fun and imaginative. Except for Kevin, Kevin sucks sooo much.

I watched two or three of the first episodes, but it was just too weird for weird's sake and out there to really enjoy, plus it moved too quickly. And I think it could use better scoring.

I can't imagine being able to tolerate an entire season like those first episodes.

Just watched the first ep......It's trying too hard to be funny. Painfully so. Does it get better? I do like the look though.

Digging this up, rather than starting a new thread.

Just finished the second season on Netflix (UK). I love this show.

The animation is incredible, and is setting the bar for how Lower Decks must look, as a minimum. The music is beautiful at points. The comedy goes from making you half-smile to laughing out loud. Some jokes hit better than others, but that’s comedy.

Gary is very much my kind of lead character. Love him, and his hero journey is one that I’ve really invested in. Some of the stuff with his mother, in season two, was great. And his selflessness throughout the season season shows some great character development.

I did worry that the cast had grown too much, in season two, but they all grew on me by the mid-way mark. This really is a ragtag crew!

Yes, the show is utterly bonkers sometimes, and they really leaned into that in the second season, but they balance it so well with the more emotional moments, and the dark moments of storytelling on this show really are shocking to me as an audience member. The world building has been great, too. This is a damn creative show.

I’m sure it takes a few episodes for people to warm to it, but it’s worth it. Epic storytelling, big set pieces, and a hell of a lot of heart. Should appeal to any sci-fi fan.

I started watching Season 1 on the TBS website, but ended up losing track of it and by the time I remembered and tried to go back to it, and then they pulled it. Then they put it back up, but by the time I found it I only ended up watching one or two more episodes before they pulled it again.
