A year ago I heard a new Battlestar Galactica movie was going to be made, but since then I have heard nothing else about it. Does anyone here know any information on a new movie coming out?
If you're thinking this (it's from 2014):A year ago I heard a new Battlestar Galactica movie was going to be made, but since then I have heard nothing else about it. Does anyone here know any information on a new movie coming out?
It's dead, Jim.
ComingSoon.net: Is “Battlestar” still looming?
Francis Lawrence: Yeah, I’m working on that, that’s something I’m developing. I’m working on that with Lisa Joy, who is one of the creators of “Westworld.” The original series was actually one of the first sets that I ever went on. I remember being a kid and loving that show and they were filming near my house and my mom took me down there and I got to try on a Cylon helmet.
If your referring to Mockingbird Lane that actually did get a pilot, which aired on NBC shortly before Holloween in 2012. I actually thought it was pretty good, and was a bit disappointed it never went beyond the pilot.after that a rumored Munsters remake (Really? Fucking MUNSTERS?!?)
Well, the first couple of times made sense... X-Meen we know it was a success..i was certainly anticipating great things from HIS SUperman movie, so the failure was a surprise to me for sure. Not sure about the last couple of times. It seems like Singer has a very short attention span, lack of commitment or else he doesn't work & play well with others.
There'll come a time when nobody wants to commit to him anymore, no matter what he's done.
He's a good director...but yeah, these misfires, and now the allegations might be the end of it. Too bad...such a waste of talent.
These allegations should just be that, allegations, and be nothing used to wreck his career ala the McCarthy/HUAC business of the late '40's and early-to-mid '50's (whatever happened to 'innocent until proven guilty'?)
It went out with the advent of the internet.
So apparently no continuation of either TV series, but will have nods to both in some fashion. I expect we'll see a token artifact of an original Cylon Centurion. The re-imagined Cylon Centurions in the reboot series were excellent... and I'd hope they'd utilize that design, if licensing permits. I was ambivalent about the reworked Battlestar ship design, though. I'd prefer to see that become some hybrid of the old and reboot designs.Expanding on what form it will take, Lawrence clarified: "Yes it's a re-imagining, it's not a continuation of the series, it's a standalone piece."
Given the increasing and long overdue diversity of representation on screen and the TV series' tendency for gender switching, could the movie live up to that? "Yes absolutely 100 per cent!" he continued. "I'm not going to give any details but 100% there's room for that."
