USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

Three iterations of the same ship, all with some manner of striping/checkerboarding running the length of the inner nacelle struts, and the DISCO chuckleheads turn it into a potato peeler for their take on it. Bravo. [insert desultory golf clap here]
Potato peeler??

Still having trouble.

They're just trying to vent their frustration because they don't like the pylons, so they're looking for a way to make it sounds objectively bad by calling it something ridiculous. Personally I find that a bit childish. Just say you don't like it.

I'm fine with the angles of the pylons. If this were 2271 and not 2257. ;)

I don't like the gap in between but it in and of itself doesn't make nor break the pylon design. I just don't like them in this time period, gap or no gap. Straight was fine.

You're welcome! As far as I know the only other pics were of the actual Eaglemoss models on display, including the Discovery herself and perhaps the Shenzhou and a Klingon Bird-of-Prey.

The more I look at the original and DSC version compared, the more I think they pulled a JJ where it was designed at the TOS size, and then scaled up.

Like the DSC Connie has a turbolift shaft is the same spot and size as the TOS Connie (behind the bridge), which means it's going be huge at the estimated 450 meters.

The windows too, will be huge.

The Bridge module is the same size roughly.

How does the rescaled upsizing fit into the visual reboot of canon? I get them changing the visuals, uniforms, etc. But doesn’t changing the size of the ship cause an issue? Are there still only around 400 or so crew on the Enterprise or has that doubled? And if they’re sticking to “facts and events” then how does the Enterprise having twice as many crewmembers affect the stories that followed? Wouldn’t it take twice as long for the whole crew to beam down to the spore planet where Kirk hit Spock til the spores left his brain? Wouldn’t that mean that story would alter as Spock would have longer spore exposure so Kirk now can’t knock them out of him with a karate chop? If the crew is different does that mean that different interpersonal relationships could occur and the guy who died in “balance of terror” might not have been marrying the same woman? Or maybe he worked in a different department? Or maybe now the ship doesn’t have a pod for Kirk to jettison in the ion storm?

I submit that the upscaling of the Enterprise alters the facts and events that we know follow on from discovery. Unless... (I sound like Rom).

Do we have an official length for canon? Because I know there are arguments regarding the sets themselves not being able to fit at a certain length in the TOS Enterprise.
