Let's talk about the elephant in the room, this series violates Roddenberry's vision big time

You know to be fair he is not the worst actor in all of Trek. HALF of those in TOS were actually shit actors. Nichelle Nichols, George Takei, Walter Koenig, Majel Barrett. Entirely dreadful. Denise Crosby (TNG)... make it stop! Frankly I'm throwing Avery Brooks out there too. Wooden dreadful acting.

While we're throwing Star Trek under the bus in the acting department why not include most of the TNG cast as well - Sirtus, McFadden, Frakes.

However the characters were likeable. If Wang's character had worn the equivalent of Seven's outfit, stood up to Janeway and had saved the day as often as Seven wed probably have liked him better too.

Discovery is perfectly in line with TOS*, DS9, VOY, and ENT as far as the way it depicts its characters and the ways in which they interact with one another and with the world(s) around them.

TNG is actually the outlier here in that it presented a future that was TOO perfect.

* And I say this as someone who hasn't even watched all that much TOS

Yeah, I am like 1000% in disagreement with this. I just wish there was a way to show that; a 'dislike' button would be nice.
