Wow, that was terrible!

I actually liked this season overall, but the finale...Jesus.

I thought it was for sure that Anderson was leaving the show? That's how they end her story?

What happened to the virus? Where are all the aliens?

The whole fucking thing about William.... only to have Scully basically forget about it ("I was never a mother to him") while Mulder actually cares now? ("Who am I if not a father?") WHAT???

And of course no one (except for Reyes) is really dead. Skinner, CSM, William. What was the point?

The whole thing was infuriating and deeply, deeply disappointing.

Although one has to wonder if CSM can really ever be killed-- I couldn't help but notice that he took a bunch of bullets to the chest and then had to be pushed off the pier, whereas a normal person would have been blown backward, and probably in half, by the first shot.

The Mythbusters proved that you don't actually get blown backwards when you get shot.

In the real world, it's mainly the person's body's shocked reaction to being shot that causes them to twitch or jerk.
Think about Newton - if the bullet were to impart enough force to shove a person off their feet, it would also knock the shooter himself down.

Just watched the finale. Yeah, Season 10 & 11... it was nice to the show back, and there were a few decent standalone episodes... but I'd really prefer to just ignore s10&11 tbh, the X-Files has always mean a mess but really... And it all felt kinda 10 years too late anyway.

The reason why I think Scully couldn't have children I think comes down to her abduction in season 2 which made her infertile along with the cancer. At least with human babies. She was the mother to Emily the little girl in a two-parter in one season and she was part alien. Same thing with William. That's why the ending of her having a human baby is suspose to be a surprise.

Of course with Carter and his coming book, we will most likely find out that Mulder is a part alien clone who was returned to earth after his abduction. CSM is still alive on a space ship and the one killed in the final was yet another clone. All of which will be changed in a third book were real Mulder is returned to Earth only to find out Scully was also a cloned alien after her abduction in season 2 and the mystery is how did they somehow have a normal human baby only the baby isn't normal. It's actually a rapidly aging copy of CSM who now has a younger and sexy body which will come into play for the reboot were he becomes the main villian to a new group of younger X-File agents. One of them will be William and the other will be a never mentioned daughter of Skinner.

Guns do have a kick, but the shooter is braced for it-- if you push somebody over, you don't both fall down.

I thought the actor was good. He would be more interesting than those two FBI agents they set up last year who they wrote out this season. There would something weird doing a show though about a human/alien hybrid. Remember the early days when the show was trying not to be science fiction but more about science-fact and kind of grounded in reality.

I was thinking more about how people weren't wearing spandex and the stuff they did use were often paranormal stuff based on things that people believe in or at least familiar with such as the aliens looking like the greys that has become the mental image of what people think a real alien looks like if they are someone who believes aliens have been coming to the planet. Plus the FBI setting gives it a image of real proffesionals investigating these things. Carter also made a point of trying to cast regular looking people in the various roles instead of the Hollywood pretty people image. Even Scully is sort of like that because Fox wanted him to go with a young blonde type who i assume would also look like she has just stepped off a runway.

I thought the actor was good.

He was fine as a guest, but I doubt he could carry a series.

He would be more interesting than those two FBI agents they set up last year who they wrote out this season.

They were the same: Fine as guest stars, but they couldn't take over for Duchovny and Anderson.

I meant the Puerto Rico situation in general, but, yeah, FEMA is bad.

I just found a youtube channel, Mythbusters for the Impatient, that has the whole experiment and results.

That was sick. It's surprising, though. They did acknowledge that the target would feel the same kick as the shooter, who is reflexively braced for it. And the experimental targets that they used were hanging inertly and not moving while balanced on two legs, so I think there's still some room for the going-through-the-window-dramatically scenario.
