I definitely want to check out Last Shot.
Mediocre is probably the most apt description. The first one is a bit of a mess as it spends as much time on random, disconnected vignettes as it does on the main story, which is itself not all that memorable or interesting. The other two are a lot more coherent with more of an engaging story, but the main characters still seem lacking. Mr. Bones is always a treat though.Oh, cool. I have to admit, I'm kind of torn on the Aftermath books, I've heard a lot of stuff about them that sounds interesting, but it seems like the majority of people didn't like them.
I started the digital collection of the Obi-Wan and Anakin miniseries a couple days ago. Rebels got me in a Star Wars mood, and a prequel era story sounded good. I'm up to the third issue, and it's pretty good so far.

I have to admit, I am curious what the structure of Last Shot is going to be. Will get all of each time period at once, or will it jump back and forth?
I was going to look at the Thrawn comic mini series, but its just an adaptation of the recent book. Why would I want to read what has to be a super abridged version of the book? I can't imagine that pictures compensate for all the lost story. It seems like a weird move, honestly.

They did a comic adaptation of Splinter of the Mind's Eye in the 90s.
I enjoy comic adaptations of books, so I don't see an issue with it.
I can see the appeal of getting something that was only in prose in a new visual format.
I doubt I'm the target audience either. I just like seeing other interpretations rather than what's inside my head.Yeah, for those who want them, fair enough. I guess I'm not in the main target audience for them if they don't expand on the original story.

If given the choice between a new story and an adaptation, I'd definitely prefer a new story, but I can see the appeal of an adaptation.Yeah, I guess. I'm not against it or anything, I'm just a bit disappointed that its not a new Thrawn story. As someone who liked the book, adapting it into a comic doesn't really appeal to me.
