I'd love to see a connie with those textures.They updated its textures. This is a TOS design, but vastly updated
Other then the nacelle, that ship's design is copied right from ST'09
That kinda reminds me of the Early 23rd Century inspired NX class for Pacific 201.
Super retro, but that could work as long as the connie has modern textures and such.
True, it does look like the Kelvin without it's secondary hull, but I'd still love to see how one would look.

Weird that they kept the Connie the same, but updated the D-7
Yeah that connie looks cheap and amateurish next to the other designs.
I hated the nacells and deflecters, but STO9 had some neat designs.
Here's the closest I could find to a Kelvin-esque Connie. Doesn't look too far off from the Discovery version either. I quite like it.

No, cheap and amateurish are the words I am looking for. Next to the other ships, it just looks unfinished.

I wish I had entered the conversation sooner, but I got slammed with convention prep. I did my model up the night after the finale aired, and had images up on the FB page. I really like what they did with the design, but I'm not quite sold on the rear parts of the nacelles, or the slit in the nacelle pylons. I think the slit would work better, if it looked more like an addition, like they had to add an extra conduit path during a refit or something.
John Eaves had Scott Schneider both popped in to say it looked pretty close on some parts, way off on others.

Scott Schneider Over all gestures and proportions are close but the details are quite a bit off. But considering what little he has to work with its still damn impressive."

I hate the silly retro dish they use. Yours fits better IMO. Good try at remaking the ship from that flyby, it looks damned nice
