One name I haven’t seen yet: Jose Mendez. I liked the character in TOS and think it would be interesting to have him pop up here.
With a random Redshirt always hanging around for him to maul to death in stressful situations.
I remember hearing that the tardigrade was originally supposed to be a bridge member on I believe the Shenzhou, which is why they had the lowered area of the bridge. So, I guess it could happen.
He was supposed to become a member of the Discovery bridge crew, but the special effects were too expensive -- or so I've read.
If it hasn't already been decided then I would think the network execs would want Jason Isaacs, just judging by the positive reaction he got from fans. It's probably not the direction the writers would want to go in, but if the network wants it then they will try to make it happen. Of course Jason Isaacs might have other ideas. Someone at CBS might have to do the Godfather thing and make him an off he can't refuse.

Discovery producers got a Tudyk look-alike instead in Anthony Rapp (well, made not "look-alike", but they could be brothers or cousins or something).I'd love to see the steam rising from Browncoats' heads if Fillion turns up on DSC.
They could have other FF actors get in on the action as well:
- Gina Torres as a Klingon (one with hair, of course)
- Sean Maher as a Romulan
- Jewel Staite as Audrid Dax
- Adam Baldwin as...oh hell, I dunno, Captain Garrovick (in a flashback to just before the Farragut disaster)?
I intentionally left out Alan Tudyk because he has had some, shall we say, less than kind things to say about Trek in the past (I believe his exact words were, "Star Trek is for pussies").
Yep. they've both joked about it. Would be fun to see him as a relative.
I suppose that would count out Mr. Arex's race as well.
What they need is someone like M'Ress to attract the "Furries" demographic (although I have to admit that the young adolescent me thought that M'Ress was hot, even though I've never been into the whole "Furries" thing).

That looks like Jesse Plemons as "Fatt Damon" -- which was some people called Plemons after he gained weight for roles in Black Mass (film) and Fargo (TV).How about budget Matt Damon
The also looks to be a budget Jimmi Simpson standing in the back row (behind the shoulder of Full-priced Cristin Milioti).
Edit To add: That IS Jimmi Simpson (I don't watch Black Mirror....Sorry). So excuse my ignorance when I ask "is that the real Jesse Plemons?"
