Hey, I never noticed that before....

At the end of season two the transporter room was lit with a lot of purple lights, they must have liked it enough they decided to paint the walls permanently.

In City on the Edge, if you look closely after Kirk and Spock run from the police, all they do is run around the small city block and straight back to the alley area that they just left.
There weren't that many places to go in Mayberry.
The last place the fuzz would think to look for them.
The Policeman that arrested them didn't look too bright did he!
JB
This all reminds of the keystone cops-style "Can't Buy Me Love" scene toward the end of A Hard Day's Night, when the Beatles run back into the police station where the chase started, catch their breaths, and run back out again...and John can be seen running out twice.

I'd just have posted a clip if one were available, but the Fab Lawyers are very strict about what gets on YouTube these days.

That reminds me of a scene in the Red Dwarf episode 'Justice'. In the very last scene, while Lister is ranting, you see the crew walking down a corridor, turn a corner and then continue walking. It's easy to miss it because the camera angle is quite low with the cameraman walking backwards away from the crew. However, you can see that when they turn the corner, all they're doing is walking around a pillar before walking back down the same corridor.

rewatched "Jihad" this evening, realized the Vedala transporters must function not just across interstellar space, but time as well.

Kirk's first log entry noted the Vedala were supposedly the oldest spacefaring species in the galaxy. Obviously , material from later iterations conflicted and outright negated this "notation".

The Vedala itself had white fur with black "points", stood with a "hunched" or "slouched" posture and its hind legs were more proportional to that of a quadruped. The muzzle was more elongated and more narrow than those the Kziniti possessed and it spoke with a cultured, feminine voice (though that is no guarantee it was female).

What species of catlike alien appeared in The Federation HQ in the Voyage Home? I doubt it was a Kzinti of course...
JB

They were supposed to be the same species as M'Ress from TAS, referred to as Caitians (and said to be distantly related to the Kzinti) in background and tie-in materials, but never onscreen.

The Vedala from "The Jihad" always struck me as a bit more vulpine or raccoon-ish than felinoid, although I can certainly see some catlike features.
