This is such sad and frustrating news. Season Seven has been awesome. OUAT deserves another season. I'm totally bummed because of this news.

What makes it worse is the word before this was that things looked hopeful. In fact the article I am thinking about said that while Friday ratings were down, views on other days via On Demand et cetera were up drastically, a triple digits increase.
Having read comments/statements from the network and showrunners Adam and Eddy, I think this decision was less about ratings and more about feeling that the series was at a place, both narratively and in terms of episode count, where ending it made sense. Ratings may have played a role, but it does not sound, to me at least, as if that was the "driving force" behind this decision.
If that's so, then it's more understandable. I do hope it ends well with an awesome and satisfying finale. I have some questions that I doubt will be answered like: With Walt Disney having been an author, were the movies he made and his company has made based on events in other realms not yet seen in OUAT?
I read about it on Facebook too. As far as many fans are concerned, the series ended last season.
I wouldn't say that "many" fans didn't follow the show into Season 7; I'd say "some" didn't.
It's too bad, because, despite a slow start, it's been a good season.
At least ABC gave them time to wrap it up properly.
Sad to hear it's ending, I've liked the new version this season, and was kind of hoping we'd get at least one or two more seasons with this cast.

As things finally come to a head between Victoria and Ivy, someone may have to pay with their live.

"Secret Garden" was a good episode. I'm so glad Lucy is healed and Victoria (Rapunzel) was able to redeem herself. It is kind of sad she had to sacrifice herself, but considering all she had done and that was about the only thing she could do that would (and did) get through to Ivy (Drizella) that she really loved her. So, she kind of ended up being similar to Ingrid in that despite being a villain she redeemed herself in death. I also liked how Zelena and Robin's relationship and Victoria and Ivy's relationship were similar and there was a sort of symmetry between them. I'm really interested in finding out who killed the doctor and why he/she did it. If the rest of the final episodes are similar to this episode, we're going to have quite an interesting ride.

I felt sorry for Victoria/Lady Tremaine/Rapunzel. All this time, she was so focused on reviving Anastasia that she had overlooked Drizella (though I don't feel sorry for her, as misguided as she was for aligning herself with Mother Gothel, who ended up betraying her and using her).
I don't know how many more episodes are left. Hopefully, "Nook" has his happy ending and is reunited with his daughter Alice.

Well, that was quite a twist. We've gone through several evilantagonists this season and none of them has really taken. Victoriaseemed like the villain at first, yet now she has sacrificed her life to save Ivy and Lucy. Ivy seemed to be the secret villain who manipulated events clandestinely, but she was really just starved formaternal affection. I wonder if Gothol will be revealed to be somebody's puppet as well-- her ultimate goal is still a mystery. Maybe the real villain is the disembodied head in the crystal ball. Who was that?
And now we know that the curse has some limits-- it can't fake a paternity test.
That poor doctor seems to have gotten in the way of a killer who wants the truth about Lucy's father to remain a secret, but who doesn't know that the results are still in the database and can just be printed out again. Lack of computer savvy can be deadly.

Yeah, I noticed the game of hot potatoe they seem to be playing with the villains this season. Although it does seem that Mother Gothel is the one common thread they've all had.
Don't feel bad, I had to look up the head in the crystal ball on the Disney Wiki, she's Madame Leota from The Haunted Mansion. I'm not positive, but I think she might be the first character introduced in a park attraction on the show. She has popped up in the Haunted Mansion movie and comics, and a few other none HM things.

Hmm, and it looks like Memento Mori is based on an actual gift shop at Disney-- that's got to be a first, too.
