The season started in 2256

May 11, 2256. The Buran was destroyed "about a month into the war" (if we go exactly a month, that is June 11, 2256. Adding on the 212 days since he disappeared that Lorca mentioned in the prior episode, that is January 9, 2257. Nine months from that is October 9, 2257.

I don't get why Sarek would bargain so easily with the emperor and how did he convince Cromwell it was a good idea.

I think this is the episode where the whole series just lost me

The Ash, Burnham "Romance" (they both have the chemistry of oil and water and are both extremely flat boring characters) is the worst aspect of this show, I just started browsing the internet instead pretty much every time Ash was on screen and god that Burnham/Ash scene, 5 seconds in and already looking at other stuff.
Hopefully Ash and Burnham will die in the next episode and we get a good cast for S2.

I guess the relationship fall out needed to be addressed, and was partially balanced by the Terra-forming action sequence, but overall a tad bit limp.
Good WTF ending with the Emporer's new clothes. A 7/10 in antipation for a big pay off finale.

It scratches me where I itch.

I liked seeing cornwell, georgiou, sarek again. Nice shout out to DS9 "House of Quark" by mentioning D'Ghor. Kind of cheap to side-step multiple mentions of episode "mirror mirror" being referred to as the first crossover by making "mirror, mirror" not actually the first crossover with a bunch of conspiracy coverups in an attempt to preserve canon. Is this just a messed up timeline that will be corrected later? Or will they treat it like they did with enterprise where they mess up what we know to be the history of starfleet and just go with it... then leave it up to the fans to make unrealistic rationalizations to explain it?
