Captain Marvel (2019)

As much as I love the MCU in general, now that they've had a movie I consider terrible (Spider-Man: Homecoming)

I liked that movie...

I have a lot less tolerance for stupid crap from them, because now there is no reasonable expectation of quality.

You got a "one strike you're out" mentality? That isn't fair to a series that's produced all successes.

There is no reason for her to have that stupid green suit,

It fits as a Kree Outfit she gets early on.

Add to that the rumored 1990s setting and I don't have any real hope for the movie.

What's wrong with that?

The setting is one of the main selling points for me. It's an era of the MCU that outside of Howard's death and a few AoS flashbacks is largely unexplored. It's an era of post-Howard and Peggy run SHIELD, but before Fury-run SHIELD.

It's the same reason I want the FF to be from the 60s in the MCU, to show us another era and fill in the history. I hope that Ant-Man and the Wasp (and the inevitable part 3) delves deeply into Hank and Jan's adventures in the 80s.

I will have to look it up, but I assumed it was soon after the events in Bogota described by Alexander Pierce in The Winter Soldier.

I remembered after your post that I have the MCU wiki in my bookmarks, so I checked it and I couldn't find any dates or references to amounts of time between events.
Their description on there does match up with what you said, but there aren't any references there to how long ago it was.

To be fair, the first official photo released of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman made her costume look the exact same ugly brown and JUST as bad in the BvS movie. It looked way more colorful and better in her own solo movie.

Oh, I'm not giving up on them. I'm really hyped for Black Panther and Infinity War. I just no longer give things that look potentially bad any benefit of the doubt. The MCU produced a Spider-Man movie that only isn't the worst because those Andrew Garfield abominations exist. So, everything that looks even a bit off is under a lot more scrutiny for me, even though I still consider the MCU films to be the best superhero films and they have only had one real failure when it comes to movies (although they've done a good deal worse with tV shows, but that's a different division). They have only had one film failure, but it was a gigantic turd of a film. They don't get the benefit of the doubt from now on.

That is just a fan theory. It looks nothing like the kree uniforms outside of the colors. It looks like the comic costume with crap coloring. The comic costume was not based off of the kree uniforms, except possibly for the star in the middle, so if the kree dress like that in the film then the movie messed that up, too.

Its stupid. Nothing was going on in the 1990s of the MCU. Superheroes didn't exist at the time, since Ant-Man was retired and Cap on ice. Anything they do is a retcon or some "secret mission" bullshit. there were no metahumans around, at least publicly, and the chitauri were the first alien invasion Earth had unless you count the asgardians fighting people on Earth (I think Odin fought the frost giants on Earth according to one of the Thor films). Now, Agents of SHIELD confirmed that the Kree had interfered with Earth, but I think SHIELD records would have talked about an invasion by them or any other aliens in the 90s (and Coulson had full access to SHIELD records for at least one whole season of the show, so he probably would have mentioned that).

There is absolutely no reason to set the film in the 90s, and if it is what happens then its crap writing, like what we got from Homecoming. Combine that with the actress looking like someone you'd see on a low tier sitcom instead of looking like a military officer and/or government agent like the actual Carol Danvers was, and this whole movie looks like shit. I haven't felt this level of pissed off with the early info we get about an MCU film since the first Homecoming trailer came out\, and all my worries about that movie were proved true.

It really is the height of impatience to expect official cast photos from a movie that literally just started filming.

3 years ago, in anticipation of this movie, I had a photshop of Kathryn Wynnick's head on Jessica Alba's Invisible Woman body, that'd been repainted to be Captain Marvel as my desktop wallpaper for a couple months.

Now you've just made this weird.
