Spoilers 1x13 "Past is Prologue" Episode Clip

So where the Emperor finds Lorca is where the Discovery fires on the ship in the episode trailer. I think.

This clip to me shoots down the idea that Lorca has some grand ideas beyond just personal power.

He explicitly says "Burnham is integral to our future plans", so I think he has eyes on controlling both the Empire and conquoring the Federation.

He still may be playing to his audience. I'm not ready to assume Lorca's putting all his cards on the table just yet and it's not some kind of double-bluff.

Also, it seems to be pretty much immediately after the end of the last episode, so Lorca has no way to know that Michael has made him, so there's still an element of Mirror Lorca playing Prime Lorca playing Mirror Lorca, in which case if Prime Lorca was the one leading a revolt, he'd definitely (though perhaps not so unsubtly) want to make sure Prime Burnham didn't get killed before they could escape.

Looks like a great ep.

So, aside from Tilly, does anyone from Discovery in the "Prime" Universe actually serve on the ship in the Mirror Universe? Michael, Saru, and Detmer all serve on the Shenzhou, Stamets is on the Palace ship, and that clip shows Lt. Owosekun is also on board the Palace.

Maybe ISS Discovery is actually a Cadet training ship, thus explaining how Tilly successfully took command?

Wouldn’t be more transparent if Lorca were wearing a red cap.

Gretchen J. Berg and Aaron Harberts aren't shy about their political agenda with this show..... but do we really need Evil Lorca saying his own version of the Trump slogan? That's like CW Supergirl levels of forced left-wing propaganda.

Trump is wildly unpopular around the world and an obvious bigot/racist (blacks, latinos, LGBT, Muslims, etc). While I would usually steer clear, I have no objections this time.
