Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Awesome! I love that ugly-ass little ship, for some reason.

That "PreviewsWorld" site must be getting pre-release prototype photos of these models. The paint on them really look horrible. No straight edges and paint bleeding out over the details. It looked pretty bad for the Bozeman and it REALLY looks un-good for the Yeager. The tan and blue sections on the aft "Maquis Raider" section and RCS thrusters on the main "Voyager" hull look especially bad. Again, looks like it was painted by a third grader.

I believe it was supposed to be closer to the TOS color scheme. It wasn't the full-blown refit the movie version is.
Any source for that?

Interesting! Yes, there's believable evidence to support the more "TOS-color"-version. It's a judgement call. But I#m personally definitely in the camp of "paint it the way it has been officially published". Not some "background information says it might have looked like....".
I (and many others) simply know the Phase II version solely by her being featured on poster paintings. And that's IMO the color scheme they should have chosen. YMMV.
I mentioned this a few months back too when I saw the magazine cover. Really disappointed.
The more TOSish colors for this Phase II design have only cropped up in recent years with fan models of the ship and the comic. For a very long time I have had that image of the blue deflector and nacelles in my mind. Wonder why they put TOS colors on it considering that we have all known it under a different color scheme.

beyond enterprise is up for preorder in the US shop, if you’re like me and have been excited about this one for almost 2 years now (still cringed at the $50 price tag for what’s basically a model i already have)...

xhosa looks marginally better than the yeager from a quality standpoint, but still a hard pass for me.

the more expensive discovery and XL ships really have me being far more judicious about models i consider necessary. once upon a time i bought things like the ferengi marauder and romulan scout ship because i thought they were staples of the collection (if not the greatest models), now i’m eBaying off ships left and right for the closet space. anticipation of the discovery line has discouraged me from popping for the probert-C and phase 2 enterprise (among others). am i the only one who feels like this collection is so big it’s starting to eat its young?

Definitely not. I’m in it until the end for the complete collection but between the regular collection, specials, web exclusives, XLs, plaques, Mirror Universe Ships, shuttles, Discovery Ships & specials for that line, it’s a lot. I’m actually hoping 160 is the end of the regular line since it’s getting so obscure.

Speaking of Memory Alpha has posted up to 130.

123 Romulan Science Vessel
124 SS Emmete
125 Alice
126 Niagara Class
127 Eymorg Starship
128 OV 165
129 Tholian Ship 23rd Century
130 Borg Probe

So stoked!
123: Don’t care that much about the science vessel with its bland “from Daddy’s toolbox” head. But it can also double as Taresian ship.

124: Love 22nd century Earth ships. Is the front gonna look plain like the original, or are they modding it? Some love for SS Conestoga and ISS Warp Delta next, please!

125: Alice. Cool ship, half curvy and half boxy.

126: I’ll get two of those and remove one third nacelle. (USS Barclay).

127: TOS love (nudge nudge wink wink)

128: Total surprise and a real highlight because it bridges real world and Trek.

129: TOS-R version for sure? I’d want both tbh.

130: One of the major ships that remain unmade yet.

Overall, surprised not more previously announced ships or major outstanding ships (T’Plana-Hath, Keldon, Jem’Hadar biggie) made the cut.

I just got the Klingon D-5 and the Probert Ambassador Class Prototype.

The D-5 had incredible detail and is a good size- my only issue is that it looks too clean to be a Klingon vessel. A little wash over it and it will be perfect.

The Prototype Enterprise-C is a fantastic design when you see it in 2D- the artwork does not do it justice. I wish the Galaxy class looked this good- streamlined and graceful. I never did care much for the E-D's oval primary hull and seeing this ship with the circular one really makes the case.

i don't have many ships in my collection but I am really happy to add these two.

128 OV 165

Whaaaat?
I need NOW! This collection has become so massive, I'm already extremely picky and just buy my highlights, the Enterprises, the most iconic ships, and some extremely nichè ships I always liked (like future-Nova class, or the Romulan droneship). This is as exciting for me as Cpt. Protons ship! Man, I lust after those two almost more than after the "traditional" Trek ships at this point :guffaw:

What a great collection to offer us such extremely unique and unexpected gifts!

123 might be the first of the regular line I decide to skip. Never liked that head.

I thought the Taresian ship was a redress of the Miradorn raider.

With the announcement of the Eymorg ship and the Tholian webspinner, that leaves only the Romulan version of the D7 battlecruiser from TOS-R, apart from the Woden (variety of the Antares) and the Aurora (variety of Mudd's ship Stella), right? Here's hoping for Starbase 8 though... :-)

Not sure I care much about the First Federation bubble ships.
