Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

My orders arrived today (yay), 15 days after I ordered them. I suppose that's not too bad really, with that e-mail I was expecting another weeks wait.

However, my XL Voyager is missing one of the blue clear plastic parts on one of the nacelles. Looks like it was never fitted properly as it's not anywhere in the box. Has anyone had experience here of getting replacements? Do you just e-mail them the issue and they send you another? Just wondered, never had to do it before
Any time I've had any issues I just email them (used to call when still run out of GB) and they would send out a replacement. They've never asked for me to send anything back. They just sent out a replacement, no questions asked.

Have we ever seen a Miranda at warp? I can't think of one time.
They had perma-blue nacelles in the DS9 CGI battles, which is fine as I can just assume they were refitted. I presume the Reliant herself would have had blue interior nacelles at warp, but we never saw it on screen.

FWIW, the Phase II comic “The Fear” in the Star Trek: Waypoint series also goes for the Eaglemoss/TOS exterior color scheme.

Interesting! Yes, there's believable evidence to support the more "TOS-color"-version. It's a judgement call. But I#m personally definitely in the camp of "paint it the way it has been officially published". Not some "background information says it might have looked like....".
I (and many others) simply know the Phase II version solely by her being featured on poster paintings. And that's IMO the color scheme they should have chosen. YMMV.

Oh sweet candy apple fuck... I got a response back from my request of confirmation that I'm still opted-in for specials:The USS Franklin?!? How many months has that thing already been out? I actually gave up waiting for it and bought it last summer from the online store. Good Lord, yet another duplicate model I'm going to have to flip on eBay. At this rate I won't see the K-7 space station until June and the Ringship Enterprise by next Christmas!

Heh, had the same thing happen, bought a Franklin from the store figuring I fell off the list, just got the shipping notice.

ben robinson on twitter today stated that the ISS charon (the oddly shaped, possibly bigger than a small star, mirror universe flagship) will be an oversized special in the discovery line, along with the sarcophagus ship and "one other thing".

me, i'm just sitting here waiting for the shenzhou to arrive.

I wonder if the “one other thing” is the Discovery Enterprise?

that hadn’t occurred to me. but considering the rapidity with which the show is pulling out all the stops (for better or for worse), it’s possible. however, since they seem to be saving the oversize discovery models for ships that are larger in scale, it might also be a space station or other alien ship we have yet to encounter.

perhaps a romulan ship or something.

Next Wednesday the new Previews catalog comes out, which normally has pre-orders for a couple of months in the future.
Last issue included 119 and 120, Hirogen Holoship and Bozeman.
Next issue should include 121 Xhosa and 122...???

Not much time left for Eaglemoss to release the next set of ships on the list.

I wonder if they figured out how to do the Scimitar. We can probably forget about ever seeing a Narada, based on Ben's frequent comments on the subject.

It occurs to me that, after looking at the close-up of the Bozeman model, the paint job on that thing looks horrible. The windows are all wrong, the "United Federation of Planets" and "Starship USS Bozeman" text on the port-side of the primary hull are absurdly huge, and the red pin-striping around the B/C deck area seems out of alignment and way too thick. It honestly looks like it was pained by a third grader. I really hope that was the hand-painted prototype and not the final product. It really looks nothing like the CG model on the cover of the magazine and I thought the printed masters and final paint/decal applications were supposed to have originated from that. The aft shuttle landing deck/impulse module also appears to be either too short or missing entirely from the final mesh. The original piece in question was sold in an auction back in 2015. It doesn't look like they knew what it was at the time, but it was definitely the aft segment of the greater superstructure they added to the Reliant model for "Cause and Effect". The Bozeman is one of my favorite "one-off" ships - up there with the Centaur - and I'm afraid I'm in for a big disappointment, based on what I'm seeing there.

I do not live in a major city.

Well subscriptions are available to Canada (although not the online store, which I find rather frustrating myself).

If that's a bit much for you, and there's no comic/collectible stores in your area, you might have to try your luck with eBay. The ships are usually a tad more expensive there, but I think the prices are usually better than Amazon (though that might be worth checking out too). I'd also suggest sites checking sites like Craigslist and Kijiji. If there's a flea market in your area, maybe try them too.
