NFL 2017 Season

Didn't stop anyone last night either. Stay classy, Philly! :techman:

Looking forward to having everyone annoyed for the next two weeks as they have to hear about Brady again...

Fun 'history repeating itself' moment:

When Pats won their 1st "3 in 4 years" set of rings, they:

Beat NFC West (Rams), missed the SuperBowl, Beat NFC South (Panthers), Beat NFC North (Eagles).

This time around, they:

Beat NFC West (Seahawks), missed the SuperBowl, Beat NFC South (Falcons), playing NFC North (Eagles)

Hopefully they can put the same stamp on it. Wining 3 in 4 years is amazing, doing it twice is nuts. Doing it 13 years apart, but with the same QB, is crazy.

^^^ Interwebz win for the day!

In other news, new conspiracy theories swirl about potential zebra bias for the Pats in yesterday's game. Refs were seen congratulating members of the team (including Brady at the end) not once, but twice. This should be fun...

It's just amazing. It's gotten to the point where anytime the Pats win, it's because of shenanigans. Quite comical.

The end will come some day. For those of you too young to remember the futility of the Boston Patriots, you will eventually get to see it again.

There will always be them getting completely shithoused by the Bears in 1986.

^alleged shenanigans. So much butthurt, everyone has to constantly try to figure out how they cheated/bribed/whatever this time to beat their snowflake teams, like a bunch of parents at a pee wee match. It's gone from annoying to comical, enjoying the hate at this point.

Jags wasted no time getting into it; refs were to blame, flag disparity unfair. When pressed, no good examples other than a ref smiling while breaking up a scuffle. Which flag wasn't earned? Dumb delay of game? obvious PI calls? Tony Dungy, notorious Pats homer (yeah, no) pretty much tore into the guys on that one. One Jags player's biggest gripe was the Gillmore play at the end of the game. Probably the cleanest one out there, beautiful pics of him with total separation from the WR, deflecting the ball with no contact to player, etc. Just pathetic sour grapes at this point. You COULD call holding or PI on just about every play, but it felt pretty evenly called there, some degree of letting them play unless there were bad ones. Felt there could have been a couple extra on the Jags too (mostly pinning Cooks' arms down during attempts), so goes in the win some/lose some category there. Can't really call any PI against the Pats if Bortles never threw the ball down field ;)

And yeah, know the Pats dynasty won't last forever. Hopefully they'll never sink to Boston Patriots level again, and think the Krafts are good enough owners to not let that happen, but never know. Jonathan seems a little better than the average member of the Lucky Sperm Club that's been handed keys to a NFL franchise. He's no Mark Davis... Hoping when the time comes, Bill and Tom leave things in a decent place to allow them to remain competitive at least. Miracle comebacks any time we're losing is too much to ask for, but decent play and competitive 10-6 type seasons would be a nice landing place. Or Brady can play until he runs out of fingers to put rings on.

I was so wrong about Nick Foles.

Anyone remember the time Brett Favre got hurt and Doug Pederson came in, played horribly, and then literally ripped one of his ass muscles, putting him on IR for the rest of the year?

That guy just coached a backup QB who's been benched multiple times into destroying the "best defense" in the NFC.

I certainly was too. I think a lot of people were wrong about Foles. He could easily be a Superbowl MVP this year. And it's nothing short of amazing how he can just pick up this late in the season and actually take them all the way. Wenz might actually be thinking he's going to have to work for his old spot come off-season.

The Eagles are in the NFC East, not the NFC North. Not that that changes your point any, just wanted to correct that.

The Eagles are in the NFC East. The NFC North is actually the only division the Patriots have failed to beat in the Super Bowl; they lost to the 1985 Bears and 1996 Packers.

I see some of yall watched the Jags-Patriots game with Stevie Wonder glasses. There were several plays that were given to the Pats by the refs. Let's look at the facts:

The Pat were flagged for one penalty. ONE! The Jags had six penalties. Two of those were Pass Interference calls. The Jags only had five of them all year. The Pats Amendola head butts a Jags player and not one ref saw it. A Jags fumble recovery blown dead stopping the advancement of the ball. Last but not least, let's not forget the blatant holding by the Pats that was not called at the end of the game.

Plus the refs laughing and joking and CONGRATULATING the Pats.

Not when it's set up to have the Pats win.

But at some point Brady will die and the Pats will be screwed even with NFL favorism. That will be a truly great day.

'Donald Trump... some people like hime... some people don't. But what are his views on the important issues that matter? Like The Patriots?!' - Boston 'News' (Not really, but it's like 35 minutes on useless Patriots BS, 5 minutes weather with useless Patriots bullshit in it and 20 minutes of 'THE PATS ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!' commercials.)
