Your latest purchases, cont.

It might have been a stupid thing to do but I just ordered a book mystery box off Australian eBay. It cost me $19 with free postage and I am guaranteed more than 4 books in acceptable to very good condition. The genres that might be covered are crime, spy, action or adventure. A friend dared me to buy a mystery box and I thought that a book one was the best way to go. I will post what I got as soon as I receive them.

Digital version of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch.

Chewbacca with Porg figures for a diorama I'm working on.

Anyone know where I can find a to-scale BBQ spit action figure prop for a 3.75" Chewie to stand next to and a little broasted chicken figure, both not suitable for the under-3 crowd?

My vacation requests were approved so I've been snapping up some airline tickets. Got ones for my Canada trip (Montréal and Toronto) in May, a Chicago trip in June, and my traditional New York City brouhaha in August.

5 of the books I ordered for myself on Christmas Day arrived today. I decided to spend $500 on myself after I had cancelled Christmas because my adult sons were not helping me to prepare for Christmas either physically or financially. All together I ordered 9 books, a Fitbit, some Hobbytex (fabric painting), some Plastimake and 3 Audible credits. The Plastimake and one book still have to arrive.

These are the books that I received today.

Went to the public library sale, picked up

Stargate SG-1 Seasons 3-6 for $20 (all in pretty much perfect condition, and the newer DVD releases, I already had the first two seasons so this was perfect)

Star Wars: Scoundrels (which I've read before and liked) and Star wars: Medstar 1 & 2 novels for $1 a piece

Race on Blu Ray for $2 (its a 2016 biopic about Jesse Owens, and that seemed interesting enough to spend $2 on)

Ultraman Gaia: The Battle in hyperspace and Ultraman Tiga & Ultraman Dyna, two movies in the Ultraman franchise that I got for $2 a piece but online go for anywhere between $50-70 combined (because they are long out of print) so I got a great deal.

Mr. Robot Season 1 DVD for $2. This show got some good reviews, and for $2 for the whole first season even if I don't like the show its worth taking a shot on it.

Caesar III on Steam. I played Pharaoh constantly throughout high school, played Zeus a fair bit, and muddled around a bit in Emperor. I never played the game they grew off of, though. At the moment I'm having a problem with the sound looping. There are apparently no roadblocks to corrall walkers, which means I'm playing like I did in Pharaoh -- stupidly, plonking down engineers' posts and temples everywhere in hopes that I will cover neighborhoods with sheer force of numbers.

Also, a sandwich from subway. Steak and cheese with jalapenos...

I think you will enjoy it; it's a very well-made, clever series that keeps you guessing about what will happen next. The main character is fascinating.

Yeah, the show seems to get a lot of love. Regardless of what I end up thinking about it, at $2 for a pretty much pristine copy of season 1 on DVD it was definitely worth picking up.

A few last-minute groceries for tonight, because I'm having a dinner guest. Now that's a phrase you'll rarely hear from me! ;)
