Well im not calling the show Disco. That’s what you call a Land Rover.
Plus, it makes me laugh. :)

Hmm. I'm among those who would call disco a social disease of another sort.

Well you could call it DIS like ENT and VOY.

Or DSC which is the official CBS name.

    Huh. So it is.

    I like "DIS" better, though.

DSC is actually used in-universe. It's on the side of the shuttles.

I don't mind DSC because it's actually been used (and said) on screen.

As KDB said it's written on the side of the Shuttles and you can hear it spoken over the Shuttle's comms as a call sign in Episode 3, DSC-01 or 'Dsc-Oh-One'. Though for some reason the CBS subtitles put Distal-1

Are you sure they weren't saying "Disco One?" We've actually seen them wearing t-shirts with "DISCO" on them.
(Ooh, Culber should've worn his -- then he would've had more success at Stayin' Alive.)

But disco is dead. (And it had started to stink long before it was dead.)

the label on the shuttle was DSC-01, most likely they were saying Dsc-Oh-One, but I wouldn't be surprised if the writers did it on purpose.

The Discovery books aren't any more canon than any of the others.

Not that it really matters one bit.

Perhaps when I start to properly enjoy the show, I’ll give it that honor.
    Until then it’s STD. :)

Perhaps but until it clashes with something, you might as well think it’s canon. So far it’s the only good thing to come out of it.

Horseshit. Disco is brilliant and by far the best of the Trek series out of the starting gate. (In my not so humble opinion of course)

Could you take this debate over to the "Discovery and the Novelverse" thread, please? It really doesn't have anything to do with the topic of this one.

It arguably doesn't have anything to do with that one, either!

In this forum conversations are always going to go down odd side alleys - if it's not blocking the actual conversation, then leave it to meander.

*stern mod voice* Just so long as you all remember to be careful about spoilers!
