Well im not calling the show Disco. That’s what you call a Land Rover."STD"? Sounds like a reference to what they used to call a "social disease"!
Plus, it makes me laugh.

As KDB said it's written on the side of the Shuttles and you can hear it spoken over the Shuttle's comms as a call sign in Episode 3, DSC-01 or 'Dsc-Oh-One'. Though for some reason the CBS subtitles put Distal-1
Are you sure they weren't saying "Disco One?" We've actually seen them wearing t-shirts with "DISCO" on them.(Ooh, Culber should've worn his -- then he would've had more success at Stayin' Alive.)
Groan......facepalm how long did it take ya to come up with that lolAre you sure they weren't saying "Disco One?" We've actually seen them wearing t-shirts with "DISCO" on them.(Ooh, Culber should've worn his -- then he would've had more success at Stayin' Alive.)
The Discovery books aren't any more canon than any of the others.I would think the STD novel is canon, but there they at least tried to keep it era appropriate unlike the tv show.

But disco is dead. (And it had started to stink long before it was dead.)
Perhaps when I start to properly enjoy the show, I’ll give it that honor.Well you could call it DIS like ENT and VOY.
Or DSC which is the official CBS name.
Perhaps but until it clashes with something, you might as well think it’s canon. So far it’s the only good thing to come out of it.The Discovery books aren't any more canon than any of the others.

It arguably doesn't have anything to do with that one, either!Could you take this debate over to the "Discovery and the Novelverse" thread, please? It really doesn't have anything to do with the topic of this one.
