I gather it's a 2-hour finale. Maybe the original plan was to show it over two weeks, and they changed their minds, but they'd already locked in the finale date. Whatever the case, I'm sure they have their reasons that we laypeople don't know about because we don't know how to do their job. Just because we don't know the reasons, that doesn't mean there aren't any.
