There's a glut of comic book movies (and TV shows) just like there was once a glut of westerns. It sells, so it's a trend.

I'm pretty sure the B5 Encyclopedia has been discussed here? If you're interested, now's the time to decide. I just got this message from Captain Jaclyn regarding shipping and prices:
There are fee and interest free payments available.
(full disclosure - yes, I consult for them and help out from time to time but don't have any other monetary interest in the books)

Watch your email tomorrow for all the info on shipping! The books are off the boat and waiting for shipment. We know it took a long time (three months longer than expected) but I think all the upgrades are worth the wait. Heck, I'd've been delighted with the purple and green dual ribbon bookmarks just for the laugh.

It looks like a very nicely packaged, well-researched book, with lots of great info. I know it's a limited print run, but I still just couldn't justify the cost. Even for just the website access. Even so, I wish the team much success.

My family is in the middle of a rewatch now (first time through for the kids), but I still don't think I'd get enough use out of it. And my wife, who's a bigger B5 fan than I am, would still have killed me!

While we're discussing B5 Books, whatever happened to the next book on Crusade? I have "What the Hell Happened?" Part 1, which was OK if a little dry, containing versions of the pilot script. But I was looking forward to the next book, which was supposed to cover the production and battles w/ TNT execs -- should have been much more interesting, with fireworks! Just curious, 'cause it's been quite a while...

More than a while, it's been ages! It's a great question and I wish I had a good answer for you. All I can tell you is that it's not been forgotten and the hope is at some point JMS will be un-busy enough to get these out the door. My unofficial feeling is that they're ready as far as the non-JMS material is concerned.

You know, it's been so long, and my memory is so shoddy these days, I'm starting to wonder if i really did preorder it! Jeez, I hope I did!

Thanks, Jan. And certainly I'd rather JMS concentrate on his real writing work, for movies & TV. But I'm hoping this book eventually gets finished and released. Crusade seemed to have lots of potential to expand the universe, with some major twists along the way, from the stories I've heard. My wife & I were very disappointed that the series was scrubbed when it was, right before Bester was set to appear, on the run!

Easiest thing to do is write to help@b5books.com and ask. Heck, I might be the one to answer! :)

I'm with you. I want him to keep making a living but I really want to know the rest of the real story of what happened as well as what was planned, however loosely.

I feel like I've missed the main part of the conversation. What's this Babylon 5 book and where can I get one?

The books being discussed are the new Babylon 5 Encyclopedia. It's been available for pre-order for many months and is finally ready to ship. I don't want to get too sales-y and break any rules but I do consult with them and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.

I only have a couple of questions, is it only available through PayPal and is shipping to New Zealand possible for physical copies?

Yes, although I understand that you don't have to have a paypal account and can use any card you want. And yes, they'll ship worldwide. If you follow the link above, you can find the prices, payment plans and shipping costs.
