CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

4. You don't "break" guidelines; you merely don't follow them. CBS has specified the guidelines are just that; they are not rules. Consequently, CBS can choose to enforce or not enforce them as it sees fit. If a fan producer chooses to not abide by the guidelines they are legally exposing themselves but some kind of legal action does not ipso facto have to be taken.
This is exactly what I’ve been trying to tell people for months, but they will not listen. I’m really getting tired of the message falling on deaf ears.

View attachment 3621 Alec making promises again......sigh.
Lol -
Alec Peters: "Okay, so we can't do Axanar the way I want to on film and sell it; and a filmed documentary is out of the question too because of the setlement, but the settlement doesn't cov er a Book; and I doubt CBS will take me back to court for a "Making of Axanar" book, and my sychophants will buy it up and love it!"

Well, you know, Lucas did come out with Episode Four over two decades before Episode One, so why can't Mr. Peters do the same thing??

You mean "Axanar Parts I & II"? Yeah, wondering that myself...

Isn't it worse, when you think about it? As I recall, where it stood was:

He got a ton of money -- way more than he needed -- to fund a film which he said would give Trek fans what they really wanted.

Then he produced a short or two to promote it.

So, in reality, there has never been a single episode, so there factually cannot be "new" ones. Are Axanads still falling for this crap???

Reading Carlos’ great round up of the year I’m struck how even with all the craziness I’d still managed to miss some things. I hadn’t realised the Trekyards guys had backed away, which seemed out of the blue as they were always big supporters.

Even better I’d missed Alec’s potshots about RMB owing him money. There really doesn’t seem to be such a thing as a graceful exit from this “project”.

One constant with AP: It's always someone else's fault.

How can you have a "definitive" book on the making of something that was never made? How does that work and where can I create the Kickstarter for it?

An actual journalist could write something pretty interesting out of this whole unmade mess of a fan film.

That won't happen with Alec's cooperation, obviously.

By selling it as a preorder and never publishing it, of course.

Remember the Axanar tie-in books that were going to have stories by James Swallow, Dave Galanter, and other pro novelists? IIRC, they were supposed to be expensive limited edition hardcovers. If Peters actually goes ahead with selling this making of Axanar book, I'd expect it to go for over $100 a copy. And no one will ever receive a copy. It'll be in the same limbo as the Writing Sarek book that's been coming real soon now since I paid for it in 2005.
