What does that technically mean? I can run the Windows version with no VR headgear?

It'll work like any regular first-person game where you control it with a mouse and keyboard while viewing it on your normal monitor.

I'm very tempted to pick this up now. Anyone who plays it non-VR in the meantime, please post your thoughts on it.

I'd be interested in getting together with a few PS4 players and giving it a go (taking turns to be captain, of course!)

I bought it today on Steam for £19.99 today. Only had the chance to get it installed and had a quick play for n20 mins before family duties took me away from it. You use the mouse to move around the bridge... I didn’t get far, will post a more detailed description when I get the chance. I was also delighted that it worked on my Radeon R 280 graphics card, rather than the 290 minimum specs they say. Phew.

Thinking of buying it at that price. How much space does it take up?

It's on offer on the UK Playstation store as well at the moment - £15.99. I'll have me some of that.

ETA: It has cross-platform play, too.

Well, here's my take after a few hours playing.....

Its not as good as Starfleet Academy or Bridge Commander... Its a bridge based programme, with a variety of stand alone missions... I've only played the single player mission so far. Its not a linear/well driven story line... its all about navigating, scanning and avoiding enemy ship combat. The ship is really slow and clunky, and the ability to switch between teh bridge stations is very slow (you always have to go back to the centre seat before goign to the next station). When you issue orders to the AI, like repair systems, follow target or fire, they sometimes do it, othertimes not so much......

I'll give the multiplayer version a go to see if that is any better.

However, I am suffering with man flu at the moment, so I may just be very harsh and grumpy at the moment. Its something to do when not blowing my nose!!

Daedalus5, information on this game is extremely rare on the Internet. Even its own dedicated Wiki barely has any content.

Could you give me a summary of the storyline?

Also which ships appear in this game other than the main ship and the Original Series' Constitution class, for example which Klingon ships appear in this game? I haven't been able to find any screenshots of them anywhere.
Also is the Constitution more powerful than the Endeavour? Some people mentioned that on Steam.

I kind of expected this game content wise not to be as good as Starfleet Academy and Bridge Commander.
Its main appeal is that this is a game you can play with other gamers, each of them assuming a position at one of the stations on the bridge.

I guess the curse of Star Trek games to be bad to average in general is alive and well.

I've not progressed much on the storyline so far... I have just completed the introductory training mission. It is a typical "warp to sector", then "scan debris field", "find rescued ship", "fight attackers" and then "dance around a bit, without any shields, when you use transporters." The nice ending was when the
    Kobayashi Maru
    turns up.

I am still finding it frustratingly slow, and agree with Ghost that having more people to man the other stations would be ideal!

The ships are all the NuTrek designs from the movies. I cannot figure out how to play as teh TOS Entreprise yet; I suspect this is becasue I do not have enough points to do so.

    Now, the main campaign begins!

I played the introductory level and the one after, it's ok. The interface is a little clunky on PS4 (each analogue stick controls one hand, and the corresponding trigger selects the options). It would be better in VR, but I'm happy with having the opportunity to play without having to shell out for all the VR equipment. I'm still somewhat engaged for the moment, only playing the single player stuff but I suspect the game will come to life when you play online with a full crew of human players. I like the fact that after you complete the set single player missions, you get 'continuing voyages', which are designed to be randomised so you never get the same mission twice.

The main player ship, the Aegis, is gorgeous. I'm a fan in general of Kelvinverse designs, but it is a particularly pretty ship. Looking forward to unlocking the Enterprise as well though.

Would it be possible for any of you here to post some screenshots of the various ships in the game?

Is it worth the current price as it plays now?

There are only two ships bridges in the game so far, The Ageis and TOS bridge in all it's 60s colour glory, but there are some new things coming one of the dev teams stated recently, so possibly more bridges.
