Discovery Episode Named One of TV's Best for 2017 by IndieWire

By powerful you mean completely impractical and reliant on the writers lack of knowledge in concerns to reality for the plotlines and characters to actually work.

You have the audacity to call something "impractical" on a message board where we discuss the finer points of warp drive, transporters and inter-species breeding. :guffaw:

The author used actual things that have happened in history. Things the human race has done. There's nothing impractical about it. The time a democracy going through hard times, went off the rails, started a world war and killed seven million Jewish folks in the most heinous ways possible must seem impractical to you as well.

All of the things you listed are practical in the world Star Trek created.

Handmaid's tale doesn't have that practicality because the world created is the "near future" of our own world. That means you can't have giant sociological problems that we actually have the technology and know-how to solve without basing your entire world on flawed premises.

Once again, it is clear you haven't watched the show.

Then you haven't watched The Handmaid's Tale. Powerful story about what can go wrong when a free society becomes desperate to solve its problems.

Well executed, good looking and well acted but I gotta be honest I think the show is completely lame.

It's already been renewed for a second season. Anyone who told you that it "wasn't doing well" doesn't know what they're talking about.
It was renewed before episode 4 even aired, that's not "we renewed it because it was doing well" that's "we renewed it because it is someone important's pet project".

Nobody renews a 8.5 million dollar / episode venture because it was a "pet project." In the cutthroat world of entertainment, if it ain't bring in some positive results, it ain't getting one more MINUTE of airtime.

So that's bullshit.

Sorry...you can rationalize all you want in an attempt to make reality match your opinions...but you're really starting to stretch it now.

Don't know the site and Discovery is the only ONE on the list I've seen, so I can categorically say Discovery is my personal favourite out of the 25. :)

(Like to see Twin Peaks though).

Not for that much money. Not in Hollywood.
We have no idea what level of budget they are going to authorize for Season 2.

Telling you now though, given the lukewarm reception it's not going to be anywhere near what they had for Season 1.

What “lukewarm reception”? Among the media reviews CBS would care about, it’s hardly getting raked over the coals.

Critic reviews don't matter, what matters is what the people watching it think because they are the one's that provide the views.
